CONFIRMED Anel Ahmedhodzic sold to Feyenoord

First thoughts on Anel were that he was going to cost someone a lot of money in the future as he seemed like a proper class above.

Not sure if it was illness / injury or other external factors (or just perhaps that he wasn’t actually as good as I thought) that altered my opinion. He is a decent champ defender and comes across as a really nice guy and for that I’ll miss him but I’d rather have a big horrible shithouse that gets rid of everything that comes his way.

16 mill is a great price and I hope he goes on to have a fantastic career.

I won’t miss commentators calling him Hammerjodgeidge or ‘the Bosnian’ tho.

Anel wasn’t anything special. Good player but honestly hope we can do better, all in all a disappointment.

He certainly had spells when he was very good, but was also likely to have a John Terry moment, getting caught out but then being quick enough to recover his errors by being quick enough to get back in and put in a last ditch tackle.

I didn’t rate him on the left of a back 3/4 though as I thought he was too dominant on his right and didn’t put tackles in with his left, led with his right and put himself under pressure.

Mostly he was decent, seemed to lose confidence in getting forward. But was very good on the ball and added a lot to our defence

But would I have wanted to keep him? Yes. And he’ll be hard to replace

Agree with the general point, but there's no way he's on anywhere near double his wage when he was with us, never mind triple.

For us it is because we generally sign injured or unfit players. Other teams allow a player to do a full pre season with a decent club and then steal them so they’re match ready!
