Linked (by Danny Hall, so take it with a pinch of salt) to Dunfermline. Who are owned by our resident poker player James Bond.

As we apparently want to make room for another wildcard signing.

Bad look for everyone involved (apart from Jeff)

So we have to have a one in one out policy on wildcard AI signings that won't be on much at all 🙄

We only have a set amount of work permit exemption slots and that’s 4 and we’ve signed 4 players using those slots so if we want to change the 4 players we have those slots allocated to we need to ship players out to make room. It’s not money thing it’s a player registration thing.

Sounds alot of pissing about for a player that probably won't feature yet when we need a new defence.

The two lads we signed using those spots last Jan look like mistakes Ukaki looks alright and if this is to make room for Zatterstrom fair enough as he sounds like he’s got more chance of succeeding. It’s something we’ve not done before as a club so it’s understandable if we’ve been a bit eager and made mistakes to start with. I don’t mind us recognising those mistakes quickly and moving on though rather than being stubborn and trying to save face.

Makes no difference to the work permit slots if we send them out on loan as we still hold his registration.

Reading between the lines, it seems like we assumed that Zatterstrom would get an auto pass for GBE, however due to specific wording in regards to qualifying matches for Europa/Champions league, we will not get the auto pass.

Sell Caceres to Dunfermline for 10K max (loan fee) with a 10K buy back clause if he comes good - works out for everyone.

N.B. - as this will be a Band 3 league. it will also improve the GBE total for Caceres if he plays over 60% of minutes for them this season - which could end up pushing his total above the require number for no GBE

Is it? What do you think we're losing? Do we know any of the details at either end of this deal?
Yeah you're right, his club probably paid us to take him. And the work permit stuff must all have been free.

It’s negligent mismanagem not with either incompetent or totally nice by the 100 💯 owners. But it’s probably bith

Shame for him but listening to how the lads on the Pinch described his numbers and stats it's akin to Man City signing Leon Clarke from us during that mad 7 game spell. All based on an unsustainable purple patch. Some nice touches but not (yet) a top end champ player.

There's no real difference if we were to sell him to Dunfermline than the deal we had with Aston Villa for Archer. It was a permanent deal but everyone knew that it was to all intents a loan. It just worked for both clubs and there was a clause in the deal saying that they were obligated to buy back for a set fee if we went down. In this scenario we would probably just future proof ourselves with a set buy back amount which can be triggered every transfer window in the EFL for x years. They get the use of the lad, we get him out playing football and he is in all reality still a player we 'control' and he is playing football. Also we get a GBE slot back. Its just circumventing the rules which is about time we started playing tbe same game as all the others.

I think everyone's missing the point.

I'm a for a data driven approach, but the 'AI' players we are signing are taking up meaningful foreign player slots that could be so much better utilised. They're miles away.

EDIT: I've been impressed by Ukaki. But does the manager even think he's close?

Watched Jimmy Rambles video on the press conference, apparently Selles was asked if any of the development players had impressed.

Said that both Ukaki and Caceres had impressed in preseason, and that one of them (didn't name them) would either be on the bench or would start against Birmingham.

Given the news about Caceres, it's probably Ukaki who will be involved against Birmingham.

I’m not sure it does take up meaningful foreign player slots if you are talking about those who would be first team ready. Presumably they would come in under the GBE scheme, not the one for the completely unknown development players.

It's got to be Ukaki. He's looked decent. But no better than Brooks and that's concerning because I don't think a team with Andre Brooks on the right wing all season will finish in the top 6.

But if we’re able to move them on relatively easily, as it appears with Caceres, why is it a problem?

And I understand he part owns the club we signed Polendakov from!

🎶 It’s the ciiiiiiiiiircle, the ciiiiiircle of liiiiiiiiiiiiiifffffe 🎶
A circle is just a very bent line, what have we got ourselves into?

Too complicated for some 🙂
