No idea who any of those are, so yeah i'd go with that team! Feck Rotherham. I'd give em a 3-0 walkover and not bother turning up if it was in the rules.

EDIT: sorry, i do of course mean Rov'rum.

Here you go..a little snippet of 'Golden Gordon'...

tbh im a little disappointed so many, mr clough included have given up on the play offs, 18 points to play for, 8 points behind posh.
1st feb we were how many behind posh?
are we saying posh have no way of losing 3 of the last 6 games and not a chance we could win those three?
is the FA cup more important than the playoffs?
if someone had said to me 31st jan, ill give you a choice play offs but no guarantees how you will do or FA cup semi final again with no guarantees I personally would have took play offs.
would prolly losing to say arsenal in the final but gaining a run in Europa league be more lucrative than playing next season in championship?
why not rest a couple of first teamers Tuesday but still go for a win, why not diego up front with painter/porter maybe diego just behind front man?
lewin, damaio, doyle n mcginn
freeman harris full backs, hill and kennedy centers, actually looking at that it is resting almost all first choices :)
but wth I still think we could beat toy town and have a fresh (ish) team for sunday but still keep faint play off hopes alive, hell who woulda thought 1st feb we would win 10 on the trot, is it so unfeasible we could win last six in the league?
if only to take the form into next season if the playoffs do become mathematically impossible?
ive said it before in another thread, nothing to play for in the league, BOLLOCKS they should play for the pride of wearing our famous shirt, play for the fans that turn up week in week out and if nothing else they should play for their own pride and not just to pick up a wage packet most that come to watch them only dream about or if they have aspirations of playing at a higher level, they would have more chance IF they are playing for a winning team than a lacklustre team that are just going thru the motions dreaming of their summer jollies.
FA cup or play offs, why not BOTH.

I understand what your saying roller. I would love to see us in the play offs however, as things stand I just think it is a hell of an ask with the amount if games remaining. At this moment in time we are one game away from an FA cup final and this chance may not come around again for a very long time and could potentially see us in Europe for the first time. I just personally feel that we are not ready for promotion this season. In the bigger picture I think promotion next season would be better for the club after Clough has had a full pre season and chance to build his own team. He has signed some impressive players this season and with a full pre season without 'panic buying' which may happen if we got to the championship next season, we just might have the nucleus of a squad which could gain consecutive promotions..... However if we get into the play offs this season I will be a happy man as I have a bet on us to reach the top 6 which will see a nice return of £450 ;)

As it stands we are simply not good enough to progress to the playoffs.
No team gets promoted with 40 goals scored.
Recent matches against the top six should have illustrated that very well.
Next year will see expectations rise and Clough will have more time to shape the team.

I would put out the second team, since then maybe I can go to the match and see a performance with out the fear of missing Wembley attitude we've seen for the past 2 home games.

i think we should definately rest harry. a yellow card yesterday all we need is for Mike Dean to send him off, got this
horrible feeling he will be happy to upset us

And the rules have been relaxed since then. Dont know if it is the same for FL

http://sports.ndtv.com/football/new...ding-full-strength-teams-in-epl-to-be-relaxed
I think any such rule is a nonsense. Who decides what a 'strong' team is? Manchester United once fielded a 'weakened' team full of academy kids who went on to win the league (and everything else). What if you put out your reserves, who all play well to show they deserve a chance on a regular basis and win the match? What if most of your regulars are caught on a heavy night out and part of the club's internal discipline policy is for them to miss the next match?

I cant understand this one bit,for a start how can we not be ready for the championship yet ready for europe? For me you take promotion when you can get it,if we do get promoted and i know its a very big if but you should still play to win every game it would have given us a lot better chance of keeping the beard and coady, this then helps bringing in other quality players or shall we just sit and rot in this shocking league?

Back to the topic:

GK: Howard: not a position which requires a lot of physical effort and keepers need games to stay mentally sharp.

DR: Freeman: if Harris is fit then he'll play at Wembley. Freeman has done well at left back so should get the chance to stake a claim to keep Harris out.
DC: Collins: he's been the consistent member of the back four recently so should stay in. Don't think fitness is an issue.
DC: Kennedy: did well vs Peterborough and only has two months left on his contract.
DL: Hill: not my first (or second) choice at left back but given the options, he should play.

DM: McGinn: probably not first choice for Wembley but is relatively experienced
DM: Doyle: I get the feeling that Doyle wants to play every game; you always know what you'll get from him.
MR: Davies: solid and professional, will always 'do a job'. Set pieces a bonus.
ML: Calvert-Lewin: he's been playing well for and scoring goals for the U21s.
AM: Khan: see Calvert-Lewin

ST: Porter: unlikely to start at Wembley, should be tasked with holding the ball up and getting the young lads into the game.

That means rests for Brayford, Maguire, Coady, Scougall, Murphy, Flynn and Baxter. Brayford hasn't looked totally fit since he came back, Coady, Murphy and Flynn need to be at 100% for Sunday, Scougall and Baxter are carrying knocks and Maguire is too important to risk injury or a ban.

I know Calvert-Lewin is a right winger by trade but he's shown a good knack of scoring goals from that side so allowing him to come inside should increase that chance. I'd also like to see a bench of almost all U21s: Long, Hodder, Banton, Coady, Dimaio, Di Girolamo, Paynter

I didn't say I don't want us to get promoted nor did I say I want us to lose nor did I say we would be ready for Europe. We should go out to win every game however as things stand we have a better chance of reaching an fa cup final than gaining promotion with the amount of games remaining. If I was offered promotion or to win the fa cup right now I would take the fa cup and qualification for Europe without hesitation. Winning cups and European ambition is what football is all about!Win the cup this year promotion next year. I'm pretty sure the beard and coady will be here come the start of next season regardless of what division we are in.

Harris looked very rusty on saturday, I think he'll probably start tomorrow in order to get some competitive minutes under his belt so he's sharp for wembley. I don't think davies will start either. Would definitely like to see kennedy, khan etc given a run out

Steve Evans interview was very clever - 'we'll show no respect for the game United have on Sunday, we'll make it a fight, we'll be in the trenches' translates as 'if you pick your best side Nigel, we'll kick them to bits'.

I hope it works. It would be a travesty if we scrapped a meaningless draw if it meant we sent a jaded team out at Wembley.

I think Calvert-Lewin usually plays in central midfield. Doyle did well when he came back from suspension, so it may be ok to give him a break.

Howard
Freeman Collins Kennedy Hill
Davies Dimaio McGinn Khan
Paynter Porter

Play the reserves. Keep everyone for Sunday, don't risk any injuries at all. Rotherham will never get a better chance to beat us. If type 2 wants to send his team out to kick us, then that's up to him. I'd just make sure there wasn't a first team player on the pitch for his boys to kick.

Long
Freeman Hill Kennedy Harris
De Girolamo McGinn Dimaio Davies
Porter Paynter

I would only play Harris from our first choice team as he probably needs 60 minutes game time.
However, I don't see this as being a particularly weak team.
All bar Kennedy, Dimaio and Diego have plenty of first team experience.
Fringe players and youngsters are more likely to give Rotherham a good game than first-teamers playing at 50%.
I can't see the league having any cause to complain at such a line-up and anyway the precedents have been set.

Those in the swearing section need to be careful what they call Evans tomorrow

Three men have been arrested by police investigating alleged racist chanting directed at Rotherham's manager during their League One match at Gillingham.

The trio - aged 24, 27 and 57 - were held on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and freed on police bail until May 7, Kent Police said.

It is alleged some Gillingham fans chanted racist abuse at Rotherham boss Steve Evans during his side's pulsating 4-3 win over the Gills at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday.

Second-half substitute Tom Hitchcock helped Rotherham clinch victory with a 21-minute hat-trick late on to consolidate third place.

Scots-born Evans - who has also managed Crawley and Boston - was seen talking to police following the game.

A police statement said: "Kent Police is investigating an allegation that some Gillingham fans were chanting racist abuse at Rotherham manager Steve Evans during yesterday's League One match.

"Three men aged 24, 27 and 57 were arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and have been released on bail until May 7 while officers make further inquiries."

Think Diego played today and has gone off injured with what appears to be hamstring trouble

A like for the info not the injury. Replace him in my team with Calvin-Lewis or Khan then.
Flynn and particularly Murphy should be rested and not risked.

We're so close to being able to put our strongest side at Wembley for once.
Let's not have any more hard luck stories this time (e.g. If only Murphy had played).

Posted the above on my phone and had no idea it would turn out that big. A common theme in my life as it turns out..

Calvin-Lewin, Dimaio and Kennedy where missing for U21s today.

Reed and Khan where taken off early second half.

Diego De Girolamo went off injured early 1st half.

Match ended 1-1, against Barnsley, fair result. Cockerline scored for us.
