Chances of Hamer leaving must be increasing.
Be surprising if he stays given the state of the squad now.
Hamer was happy to be here at the end of last season, and knew both Anel and Souza would be off at that time.

Anel was a difficult player to criticize, his family situation probably played a part in his poorer performances.

But now he’s gone, I did have one complaint, at times he seemed weak, pushed off the ball far to easily by forwards half his size, we need to address that.

I’ll miss him and wish him well, great player.

UTB
True, add the constant shirt pulling and clambering all over the man he was marking from corners was a recipe for disaster most times.

Good luck to him, though.

My main concern at the moment is do we have any good songs left?! Brooks, maybe.

Who would have thought 3 days before season kick off our most experienced CB player at BL is Robbo. (as in longest serving CB at SUFC) and that is it. We will be depending on Cooper a lot these first matches as we have no CB partnership.
Er probably everyone

Robbos played 139 games for us and around 300 in total.

Unless we bring in Ben Mee, he could well still be the most experienced CB at the club despite 2 or 3 new incomings

I doubt the club have been blindsided by this, so as with Soumaré coming in for Vini, expect movement

This is a very Wilder shopping list ;) 🤣
Are you surprised, it's still a "Wilder" recruitment team nothing changed there including no Director of Football - "oops sorry Mr Bettis did I mention that very popular position in the management structure of the vast majority of clubs throughout the UK and Europe, then of course you know better."

Might not be as straightforward as that unfortunately?

Well of course not, but he was happy then and they weren't. We're in a much stronger position to reject bids now, and to make offers in the required places. Hamer will know this.

Zero loyalty in football, everyone goes if the move is right for them.

The only person in my lifetime that has left the club kicking and screaming and on more than one occasion was Billy Sharp.

All things considered right decision for me.

He could be great on his day in the championship. Got some real ball playing ability for a centre back and only ever seen Basham drive with the ball as well as Anel does at this level.

He got his arse handed to him in the premier league though and consistently seemed to be one of the first to let his head drop. He also really needs a big dominant unit like Souttar next to him to bring out the best of his attributes. So he was a bit of a luxury item which you can’t really afford at centre back. I always thought he looked like he could have played a bit further forward in midfield would’ve been interested to see that.

If it’s true that he wouldn’t entertain talking about a new deal £7m now seems like good business to me rather than walking for free.

I liked him, but he’s far more replaceable than someone like Hamer or Campbell
I liked him too.Anyone playing next to Bobbinson is up against it.
His best games were alongside Souttar.
Why do some fans not understand that some players simply don't gel.

Sell Sell Sell we have always been the same , any half decent player is sold eventually

That's not the point being made 👍

Selles must have known Anel was leaving; he absolutely must get a couple of decent centre-backs in before next Saturday sharpish, or we are in deep shit.

So in 1 day weve sold 2 players who would be starting this week end
No stand out players brought in
Hope 5he newish owners have a plan B
Plan A looks poor

I liked Anel, good athlete, technically good footballer, heart of gold.

When he made his debut as the right hand CB of a 3

But he is the +1, technically able centre half. The Killa to the Morgs, the Jags to the Morgs. Whst we need is leaders, organisers. We need two promising centre halves who have real potential and resale value, to develop a partnership.

Anel was massively overrated. Completely found out in the premier league. And the harsh reality is Robinson coped better with that than Anel did.

Think we will be in for shock on Sat you don't take the spine out of any team especially a tall spine and not suffer the consequences at free kicks and corners. The spine being Moore Souza Anel...Anyway bed's made now so we lay in it.

It’s makes sense for him to leave prior to contract running down. It’s the way of the world today and makes good sense from a business viewpoint.
Hopefully some of the money will be used for a replacement.
If you look at all the computer predictions etc we are not favourites for promotion and according to some will miss out on play offs.
We have a young team and possibly this season is all about building for next season
Building for next season when all the loans have gone back because we haven't been promoted, Hamer, Cooper, Burrows leave because we haven't been promoted. Who exactly have we bought for next season or that is already at the club that will mean we get promoted, without parachute payments, as they are already top end championship players or will develop in to players that will establish us in the Premier?
