Key thing is whether he learns to have more impact on play than an empty crisp packet floating gently in the breeze. If he manages that he’s cracked it.

McB is awful at pens because he's pretty crap at shooting but I still want him to join, mainly because although a poor footballer he is a leader and we are desperate for that.

He used to be crap at penalties, but in our last Premier League season he converted two out of two. There was some pressure on the one against Man United, as they was loads of complaints from Man U about the decision, but he stuck it away well.
