Why do we always feel we have to replace like for like? Ooh, Moore's going, let's get another ponderous dopper in. Fucks sake
That's what I never get on here. We sign a mobile forward who makes intelligent runs behind defensive lines and he scored for fun, but can't always make 90 minutes. But when it comes to sign a new forward, we need another big lump with a crap scoring record to launch the ball 80 yards at?

Horses for courses.

No not for me. McBurnie couldn’t press a pair of trousers never mind an opponent.
That’s ok but you need a alternative.

Let’s say 500k signing on fee and 20k per week over 2 years so total 2.5m all in including fee and wages.

Who are you taking instead?

I like McBurnie and think he would be more than adequate as an alternative option in games. I don't see him starting many and id prefer to see us playing fast flowing football without a long ball in sight, but we have to remember we are in the Championship withbits 46 games a season, have finite resources, and ideally we have a Plan B for games when Plan A isnt working. Hes about the best we could get pound for pound with what is seemingly available and if we want to spend the vast majority of our money on other positions in the team. On a free, hes worth it all day long. Especially as hes a younger upgrade on KM who will hopefully fund the contract and signing on fee for McB.

Unlike Moore, I bet he can pass to a team mate 10 yards away on the half way line in the last minute of a game......too soon?

I'm not gonna say yay/nay on this one, all I would point out is that in pre-season we have had a heck of a lot more balls into the box than normal.

Assuming the Moore deal happens as said... £4m fee + £25k over 2 years, so total £6.6m. Spend a bit more and get a better player.

He's one of these who looks especially shit when he's unfit but IF he's fit and firing, he's a decent Championship striker.

If he's crocked, then we might as well have a scarecrow upfront and that's the risk.

Not sure why so many are comparing McB to Moore - theyr're totally different types of players. Just because CW predominantly used him as a target man, doesn't mean he is one, or that's his best role. Perhaps those basing their judgements on what they saw they he played for Utd should look instead how played at Barnsley, Swnasea and Las Palmas

Las Palmas View From on The Cart Horse Oli McB ( 3 goals in 36).....

McBurnie is another problem. He was becoming something of a cult hero at the Spanish club but is now a bonafide flop. Now his failure to score isn’t funny, it’s terminal. As it was in this game when he missed a sitter and cost his side dearly.

They’ve been a side with ‘no football, no ideas’ and waiting for a strike that doesn’t come from a forward line that is sorely lacking in anything if Fabio Silva isn’t a part of it. McBurnie is now a problem, and he is now ‘erratic’ and a problem.

The blame isn’t being put on him entirely, though, with it actually felt that the ‘blame lies with who signed him’. In other words, they knew what they were getting from his time at Sheffield United and signed him anyway.

Now they’re reaping the rewards as anger turns towards the club and McBurnie finds himself in the firing line.

It's a no from me for the following reasons
Time to move on
That face when a decision goes against him arms out wide.. does my head in
Injury Prone

Positives
Good at defensive errors
Gets the odd goal

So no from me thanks I'd rather give One the minutes
