Outgoing? Michael Cooper

It's like if enough people repeat it it becomes true despite being fairly wide of the mark. Cooper's kicking is good - I'm not sure he's top end premier League for footwork but few are
I always thought he wasn’t bad. The defence play it to him in a way I’ve not seen since Henderson

Comparing Cooper and Trafford in terms of value is wrong.

Burnley paid £14 million for Trafford from the best team in the world at the time, but even then Man City had a hefty sell on clause. He was the U-21 keeper and odds on to be the next England keeper. He is being resigned by one of the biggest clubs in the world.

We paid £2 million for Cooper. From a poor Championship side and he played most of his games in League 1. We're in the division below. We're not selling to a club owned by a country. He's never been capped, at a y age group, as far as I'm aware. he's 2-3 years older. We aren't getting anything like £20 million for him. Before you even factor in the fact he's poor with his feet. A must in the top flight.

The best United keeper I've ever seen was Alan Kelly and I don't think we got a million for him.

It's not just about ability.

And for clarity, I don't want to sell him but if the owners are doing a buy low sell high policy then he's probably not getting much higher value and the value will decrease as his contract runs down.
Goalkeeper is one position we've got sorted. Unless the obscenely rich clubs want to pay the going rate for fixing a vital department of their team we should say no thanks. The thought of them wanting Cooper to be a backup feels like an insult.

Cooper has had one good season

In general Ramsdale and henderson are better keepers
Hes only been here one season. What else have we got to compare against? If you ask any Plymouth fan they will tell you how class he was for them as well but he was unlucky with 2 knee injuries. Henderson is debatable but hes 100% better than Ramsdale.

Better than ramsdale ?

Ramsdale has been signed by about 7 premier league clubs and played for England

Newcastle are about to sign him

Just cause Ramsdale had a poor first 2/3 months and went on strike for one game doesn’t mean he isn’t a very good goalkeeper

Two extras make a really good keeper , the defence certainly helps … Ray Clemence massive example of this … and more than anything for me is a lucky keeper … Ramsdale has had neither , give me Paddy or Budgie over him every day … they were lucky and a bit mad ….Kelly, Hendo and Cooper different class imo

West ham side of things saying scouting reports on him were done but manager and seniors not interested as of yet.

He was replaced at Arsenal pretty quickly after we robbed them of £30m
Newcastle is he going there as No 1 ? Cant say Ive paid much attention

At Arsenal he was pretty good and the vast majority of Arsenal fans were surprised he was replaced

I think Newcastle want to replace pope probably 50/50

Is that why he is a premier league keeper signed by multiple premier league teams and a champions league team has just signed him
Ramsdale is the epitome of failing upwards. I thought he was a terrible keeper for us and was happy to see him go, genuinely thought Wes was better. How his agent keeps finding him jobs is nothing short of incredible, fair play to him.

Falling upwards into the second best team in the country at the time arsenal and now the 3rd best team in the country newcastle

A truly terrible keeper

Yes, that is the definition of failing upwards, did you really think he was good enough for Arsenal after being part of our god awful season in the Premier League?

He’s been relegated from the Premier League THREE times. He gets relegated again last season and now Newcastle are in talks with him, like I said he keeps failing upwards. Terrible goalkeeper.

He was good enough to start every game when fit for Arsenal who finished second in the premier league

When arteta decided to sign Raya the majority of the public were baffled as Ramsdale had good season for Arsenal

Getting relegated doesn’t make you a bad player 👍

He was ranked the 3rd worst goalkeeper last season for Post-Shot Expected Goals. Does that make you a bad player? If not, I would love to hear what metrics qualify for a goalkeeper.

Don't think he is a bad goalkeeper, whenever he has been relegated always had a poor defence in front of him

He's a talented goalkeeper, but he definitely has some concentration issues. He pretty much openly admitted so himself on that podcast with Ian Wright. I wonder if he has ADHD.
