New kit 2025/26

I'd imagine the colour of the name/numbers would be looked at, or white seen as an option.

The solid back is a requirement in certain competitions, perhaps we intend to get to play in those whilst wearing this design?

Worth remembering too, the designs would have been signed off a number of months ago, whilst we were under different management and potentially expecting to be playing in a higher division this season.

Just because it looks like another bad shirt doesn't make it good, the fact that people are hoping for a back sponsor to help break up the block of red tells you how bad it is, looks like two entirely different shirts from front and back.

White numbers will make it slightly better but much like the Ramsdens white backed mess (where they never corrected the black numbers to make it red and white) the back ruins what is otherwise a nice looking (from a distance) shirt.

One of the main justifications for swapping from Adidas was that they didn't offer stripes (which wasn't entirely true), but if we're not having stripes anyway, what's the point in bespoke?
I’m not a fan of the solid/part solid back but the reaction on here is a bit OTT. We have that design effect on the back every few years with various manufacturers. It’s not like we haven’t seen it before - it’s best of a bad job if somebody somewhere has decided the names and numbers need to be more legible for whatever reason.

It’s no worse than how Le Coq sportif or adidas have done it previously.

Stop coming on here talking sense. We won’t have it.

Come on though, the back of the home shirt is fucking awful, what are the lines across the bottom of the solid about, and why does the red have to be so big!

I cant wait not to have Errea anymore, it's total shit.
I might even start buying shirts again, although, £73 for a football shirt, that's just robbery.

Hang on, he's just slagged Widz off for the shot design AND for not getting promoted to the League we were supposed to wear it in.

Two of my favourite United shirts on recent memory had a block red back, and stripes at the bottom - and I'm a stripes on the front and back of the shirt kinda guy...

I wonder if part of it comes down to the design and quality with Errea, which of course will be and has been shown to be, worse given that they are a lesser brand.
Yeah, I think it’ll look better for the team with the players name and a big white number on the back. But it’ll look wank on the punters walking round town with that big, blank red panel.

Interesting how its not available online. Maybe they ARE still tinkering with it. Wishful thinking perhaps

Anyone ordered off DH Gate? Want one for the young un’ and unless I’m blind, can’t see an option to select a kids size..

A big price for a big meltdown.

This isn't Erreas doing entirely I'm sure plenty of kits in the past, specifically Adidas ones have had panel backs.

I prefer the panel back, ultimately though I couldn't give a toss but the toys being thrown out the pram over it is as embarrassing as the price they think they can charge for it.

At no point has anyone ever said to me "that United shirt, is it official? Hope you're not wearing fakes" and for that reason I'd have no issue wearing DH gate kits.

At the point last season we would have signed this option off, the potential competitions we’d have been playing in were either the same as Brentford (barring them grabbing one of the last European spots) or Stoke (assuming they stayed up). Both have full stripes on the back for 2025/26.

The only time we’ve ever really had to worry about the competition requirements limiting the back of the kit options was in 2019/20 when a European place was potentially going to impact our 2020/21 kit.

Why are we so bad at commercial side of things. Never capitalise on summer holidays and pre-season excitement

But none of makes sense and is completely flawed by teams in both the PL and Championship wearing red and white stripes on the back of their shirts for 25/26.

A major bollocks has been dropped signing this off when there’s no rules to abide by.

I'd like a return to Macron, like Errea their designs are very decent but I'm sure Macron's quality should have improved since we last had them in 2014.

Failing that, I'd like to try Joma or Hummel (but not too many chevrons).

The release date has definitely got later and later over the last few years.

My sons birthday is 18 July, it was a staple birthday gift and bought at least a week in advance. Last few years not been possible.

I guess it was all simpler back in t’day when the kit was made by Manchester-based Umbro, sponsor was Lavers down the road and launch day was being hung up in Suggs’ window.

Shared opinion is that quality-wise, it goes to Adidas and not Errea. But, I think Errea have had -somewhat- better designs; home, away. & third. Adidas sometimes gave us either simply the "template" or some actual stinking efforts.

If you go back to 2014-15, when Adidas came in & to 2022-23 when Errea took over, you could rank best & worst efforts from both...

Best Errea kits:

It's not a PL rule though. We had stripes in our last PL season, Brentford and Newcastle both did last season.

This seasons striped PL kits.

Bournemouth - Striped back

Brentford - Solid back

Interestingly though, Brentford are selling a "Replica" shirt with striped back. The above shirt is "Authentic"

1753281903369.webp

Brighton - Solid back (they ALWAYS have solid back)
1753281555031.webp

Crystal Palace - Striped back (they'll have to patch that for Europe)
1753281632676.webp

Newcastle - Solid back
1753281731044.webp

Sunderland - released on Friday??

EDIT:
More info. on Brentford having 2 options to purchase. They say it's "inline with new PL rules"

I've not checked, for obvious reasons, but I was led to believe that the Premier League were bringing their regs closer to the Uefa and putting more focus on the Delta L etc.

With that in mind, if they are, we'd have had to have planned for at least a boxed number as will anyone else with similar red & white stripes.

Is anyone in the Premier League playing with a Red and White striped back next season?

I'd imagine we'll very shortly shift to white names and numbers and this'll all die out into complaints about catering, or a new urban myth that Bettis made it a plain back to cash in on people "having to buy names and numbers to make the kit look less crap" :)

They have kids sizes but use a strange system.

Starting at 16 for XXS (2-4 years olds) and go up in 2's - most have an images with the sizes - just ordered some Arsenal shirts for my neice's 2 year old.

It really isn’t the plain back that’s the issue here, I would have preferred stripes but I also have plain red, white and black (away kit) and can live with it.

It’s the sleeves being striped that’s the issue, looks like we are waring training bibs over a striped shirt, (wait till the long sleeve version is released) amateur hour to the extreme.

BTW, the club knew this kit would bomb, you can tell from the promo video, super fast cuts between stills and a micro second of the plain back right at the end with everything done to create a concept but distract from the actual product.

Day one at media school on how to fleece the public into buying something online that they probably won’t send back.

It’s the worst Blades home kit I have ever seen, including the diamonds.

The 2018-19 home kit was annoying from the back (plain white) but at least it looked professional, and the numbers were clear. This time we have a dog's dinner, and not a very tasty one. Proper tripe - who in the club signed it off!!! I binned the 1996-97 shirt after the play off final (only one I had, but no luck every time I wore it), hoping to buy this season's kit. Another year to wait for a good one.
