This the collar is awful in its standard, it could be better if it was better quality, it just looks like ribbon tacked on….
 

The pattern is meant to be a nod to the badge (close up of the sword ⚔️) but I’m not sure where the leadmill link is, other than the promo shots obviously.

I like the colour, just hope it looks better quality in real life. As has been said, the collar in particular looks cheap. In general though I’ve no problem with errea’s designs, I thought all 3 kits last season were great

I say, that's a somewhat harsh and boorish description of the ladies (and possibly the laddies) modeling the kit, if ever I've heard one. Uncalled for and totally surprising, but that's what new kit threads do to you. 😉
 

It looks like one of those awful cricket shirts they wear in The Hundred.

Ultimately if we're unbeaten away it'll become a classic.
I loved our dark green and gold third kit in the prem and we never won a game in it.
 
The brands reputation shouldnt matter but it really does, You get youre average every day joe going in the superstore looking for something for his holiday, and if there is a polo shirt with three stripes down the sleeve or an Errea alternative we all know which hes going to walk out the shop with, its just how it is. and with regards to sales the club will have felt that.

Now for my gripe, narratives. pure marketing nonsense and it really is unnecessary and all rather meaningless, and in this instance could be construed as quite crass. Sheffield Institution gets forcibly evicted and Errea uses the dying embers of its name to sell some shirts without giving anything back?

That aside these kits are knocked up, then some marketer and copywriter is tasked with finding some tedious link to some made up narrative.

"Heres your kit, nice init" Is all it needs

I get your point but lets be honest the real reason is to increase the commercial revenue from the fans. To say we need a specific kit just in case we draw a certain team away in one of the cup competition's is stretching it a bit to say the least. I suppose the counter argument is people have a choice as to whether they buy it or not. Personally I just think we have to many random kits that have no relevance to the traditions or history of the club they are for.

In order to get away from 3rd kits, we would need to implement a similar rule to the NFL; they have their "Coloured" jersey and then a "White" jersey used predominantly away from home. They've relaxed the rules a little now, but i'm pretty sure every team must have a white jersey.

However... unless they forced the Likes of Derby and Leeds etc. to change their home kits, this wouldn't work here.
American Football (in fact many American sports), their teams wear solid jerseys. That's also not the case here where we also have Stripes, Hoops, Halves and Quarters as teams home strips.

The only way to implement that in Football would be to use a ridiculous colour that no team plays in - all I can think of is Neon Yellow/Green/Orange/Pink. Although Dortmund amongst others have used Neon Yellow as their home colours. Forest Green have used Neon Green for theirs.

Scrapping third shirts is not as simple to implement as you would think.

Also - the real cash cow isn't 3 kits... it's changing all 3 kits EVERY season.

Perhaps make the 2nd and third kits last for 2 seasons. So last seasons 2nd kit becomes this seasons third kit. This seasons new 2nd kit then becomes next seasons third kit etc. That way the club still releases 2 kits each year (1 home and one away) and the third kit is then only used as an exception where there is a clash with both home and away kits.

Just to add to the above Blade59

You also have to consider sock colour (which can't clash). Sleeves too are not meant to match so they can differentiate teams for handball etc... however, Arsenal v Spurs often play in home kits against each other, so i'm not fully sure of the official rule there.

With relation to socks.
An example would be when we visit Hillsborough. The pigs often have black home socks which is why United rarely wear Black socks at Hillsborough:

Agreed its a cash cow changing 3 a season.

A yellow away kit sorts all the issues. Norwich, wolves, watford, hull are the only potential teams that wear that colour or close to it, so red and white stripes at those grounds is fine.

But, its all about money, which i understand. Dont like it, but it isnt going to change much in the future.
