Would that have been a replacement for this kid? I suppose the game for Swindon and the agent now is to hike the fee up as much as they can, which is fair enough.

I think he’s not yet signed a professional contract so is still on scholarship terms. I believe that means we can actually offer him terms as is. In effect what teams are negotiating is what’s it worth to avoid going to tribunal and to get him this year rather than next when the scholarship runs out. If he’s said he wants to go and won’t sign a professional contract deal then Swindon are dead in the water and in full take what you can get territory. I’d imagine they’ll get a decent chunk but nowhere near the 2 million they want.

Tbh, whenever the lad ends up, I hope Swindon do OK financially out of it. They deserve to be suitably compensented financially if they have helped develop him and spent time and money on him. Boot was on the other foot and a Chelsea or Man City were in for one of ours, we would want to get some wedge off them otherwise it's not worth the effort of the smaller clubs developing players. If we want him, im sure we can come to a mutually agreeable financial package for all concerned. As for the lad, never heard of him but seems like he has potential.

The problem for Swindon is they’ve only had him two years so that would impact the fee they’d potentially get at tribunal but yeah they shouldn’t be ripped off
