Has he still got pace?

I couldnt tell in the positions he played last year and with the style/speed of play, it was difficult to see..

If he has, if the price/wage is right, i'd keep him as a striker.

Every team needs a release and if we are playing vertical (my perception is forwards), through balls could be key and IF Brewster still has pace without anything falling apart, he could be a striker we need to go in behind.

I remember the end of last season and the few times Cannon was through but his pace let him down, was noticeable.

Having said all this, i really dont know what style of play we will have this year and if Brewster will fit in.

The joys of being a supporter, we all have ideas and some think they know best (i'll put myself in that bracket), but we havent got a clue what the manager actually wants and is asking of each player.

I know this is off topic of this thread, but thank you CW, you gave me some great times as a supporter but also some head scratching moments.

All the best with your career, but im now 100% behing Selles because he is the manager of the team I support and have done for all my nearly 50 years.
Not sure if he has pace or not but the big thing that he would need to work on is tracking back and also pressing high up the park with high intensity. After being injured for as long as he was, most of the players are going to have to go through a lot of conditional work, if Selles wants to his adapt his style of play to the current squad and them not be knackered after 60 minutes and I can't see Brewster fitting the brief.

Brewster best positions is Inside forward off the left cutting in

Or striker

Unfortunately last season Hamer played on the left every game

That hampered Brewster and BBD imo

Been fit for best part of a year now

Sometimes players fitness clicks

Look at mcgoldrick & Bogle

F@cking hellmansmayo its genuinely boring people banging on about how much he cost 20 million This 20 million that did it come out of your pocket?

Did Rhian Brewster drive Prince Abdullah to the Lloyds on Fargate and force him to transfer 20 million pounds to Liverpool?

Its boringggggg

Over and over and over 20 million pounds this 20 million pounds that Jesus wept people, if Sheffield United received a pound for every time someone said " He cost 20 Mill " I reckon we'd have paid the transfer fee off ourselves on this forum

Brewster is a talented player who has been injury ravaged and now looks to be over it appears to be a good championship player, at least offer him a 2-year deal on champ wages, and it's a no-brainer
A good championship player based on what? A few decent through balls and a tap-in against Wednesday?
He's had a largely injury-free year (although I still think he's wary about running full pelt). But we're having to find different roles for him because he hasn't delivered in the role we bought him for.
Nothing against the lad but time to let him go.

I don't particularly rate Brewster but in his defence his game was built on finishing off crosses which were in larger supply I assume at Swansea where he had his best spell. We've not played that way enough over the last few years, not since the first Wilder spell with overlapping centre backs and in the second prem season when Brewster came the team went to pot.

If he was prepared to sign on again on a 1 year plus 1 year option for club at much reduced wages (he probably won't be) then id be happy to see him get that deal. But, it absolutely has to be on the clubs terms and it has to happen only if RS sees a way that he can be a valuable squad player.

I think he will move on now that CW has gone as I think that was a strong emotional pull each way. That's no longer the case and we have a manager and a board with no history or loyalty to the lad other than him being a ooc player. Neither spent that money which might have coloured a decision to renew. So, happy if he stays and is a solid back up player with contract to mirror, equally happy for him to move on. He'll always have that winner at Hillsborough to brighten my dull face though. Likeable lad too.

If the new owners are into stats and data analysis to determine our recruitment policy, it would be unbelievable if they kept him on as his stats for a striker are dire.

If he stopped smashing the ball as hard as he can and learns some composure and finesse like Campbell, then he could be a very good Championship striker. He makes some good runs, often ignored by poor passes, gets in good positions to shoot, isn't afraid to shoot first time instead of taking a touch or two, but the 90mph rocket shot lets him down every time.

He needs a coach who focuses on developing and improving players, not a manager who bypasses this in the interests of results.

They wouldn’t need AI if it was just checking goal scoring stats, anyone could google the answer in 1 minute.
Their AI will check 100’s of different stats, that would be difficult and time so consuming taking weeks for a human to check.

I hope he can resurrect his career but it is time to move on. He has been here 5 years and had maybe half a dozen games where he has looked like a competent second division player. I'm amazed we made him an offer.

Yep that's what I did. Simple this data analysis malarky! The only problem was despite the data, we still played him!
