If we want a young Irish CB who isn’t going to cost the earth right now but will after his next move is an Irish youth international and has started nearly every game for his club at a very respectable level of football then Anselmo MacNulty at PEC Zwolle is the answer. I know we don’t sign players from abroad but we have done previously when they’ve had links to people we can talk to and who’s opinion we trust for example Anel. You’d like to think we have contacts within the Irish set up we can talk to to sound out what kind of character the lad is, which Wilder puts a lot of emphasis on.

Bonuses from our point of view he’s left footed and 6ft 2 he’d slot in quite nicely for us.

I am surprised that he is so highly rated as whilst he reads the game well and is good when things happen in front of him, his lack of pace and inability to turn quickly means he will never reach the very top

Bit short on defensive numbers now aren't they with Cashin gone.

I know they've just signed Matt Clarke (a permanent deal until the summer?) but isn't Curtis Davies meant to be injured long term, apparently Callum Elder is touch and go for fitness as well.

Apparently it was a done deal for us until Cashin was informed of the fee.
He refused to sign (allegedly) stating:

“ 9 fuckin million ???!?! - Fuck that, I’m not worth owt like that amount. If you went up I’d be shoite in the Prem.That’s 3 times what Jack O’Connell cost. Last time you paid big money for a CH he turned out to be gash - remember Auston Trusty - had to flog him & where is he now?
Could get far better & far cheaper for far less, it’s only other clubs mugging you off by bidding to inflate my price. Far better value overseas (& I don’t mean Ireland) - pants down

I know a few Derby fans and even they had mixed views on him.
I assume he must have something as Brighton don't usually get them wrong, but he's not kicked on.

Not seen much of cashin but Doesn’t mean much to be fair. Brentford didn’t rate Egan or JOC

Brighton didn’t rate gykores.

They have a brilliant squad and it’s not necessarily an indictment of the player they don’t want to keep him around.

He wasn’t the standout in the league when he was last here. Nowhere near as stands out as someone like Esteve, who was quality.

Him being left footed helps him out but he’s not big enough to be a dominant centre half and not skilful enough to be a ball playing one imho.

Not a player I’ve been overly fussed about and it looks like Brighton feel the same.

I’d rather have Holding. We do need some experience and leadership.

Shows his height isn't an issue, he's got a better aerial win rate than Esteve.
