i think he needs to be given a chance .., sadly if we get off to a losing start we will be chanting Wilders name , i wish him the best UTB FTP
Slav wasn't turned on even though it was obviously not the right fit granted there was the caretaker Hecky spell as a buffer

Seen as the board signed a player using A I ( allegedly ),would they use the same process to appoint the manager....

We have to find £40m from somewhere when the parachute payments run out. Think people have forgotten what Championship life is like when you don’t have parachute payments.

He’s got to get us up IMHO. Shit or bust.
The rest of the division seem to manage?

I don't get this point of view. Every other club would be bankrupt in the Championship save the relegated teams?

I'm sure the owners have planned for this?

Assuming we sell say Hamer, Souza, Anel and another then there's £40-50 million there, plus the parachute money. I suspect they'll use some of it for future investment/infrastructure and the rest for players.

From my experience the attending crowd don’t tend to copy the online social media narrative.
I think he’ll get a decent reception and backing and can’t see Wilders name being chanted early on if we have a few defeats.
i hope you right FB . as Jennifer Warnes once sang to a famous Sheffielder "Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings"

My first thoughts are that this is a risk the owners didn’t need to take, not now anyway, not after the season we’ve had and could build on.

It’s a very strange move on the face of it and reading the intro post about Selles, I can only feel underwhelmed. The CV reads like we’re in for Championship relegation fight, a manager suited to Wednesday when Rohl goes. I admittedly don’t know anything more than has been discussed here the last few days but all the positive things I’ve heard about him appear to be Wilder-light.

When we appointed Slav, he came with credentials of having gained promotions. Selles has a record with Reading under “difficult circumstances” and relegation fight with Hull to his name. A sign of things to come? I hope not.

I’m sure that my feelings will change as we get some signings in and the sales which have already been signed off.

Good luck to him, I think he’ll need it and possibly, so will we.

Rodley you have no idea how much firepower the board have and how much they are able to invest. There's some seriously wealthy individuals amongst them. This is not the two bob prince who had run out of money. The fact they spent 10m on Cannon says to me it's not a shot or bust financial situation

They do manage, but the Championship is becoming more divided between the long term residents and the yo yo clubs. The longer you are out of the prem the chances of getting get back drop drastically.

You said the same about Wilder
And come to think of it the same about Hecky.

You hate every owner, every manager and even all the players we’ve bought.

Wonder why?
No I didn’t, for what it’s worth I’m all for a change in manager the football at times last season was painful to watch.

Just thought we might of gone for someone more proven.

Championship ffp limit is £13m per season. Small fry compared to parachute money, that doesn't buy a promotion squad.

The rest of the division manage, and the parachute payments teams almost always go straight back up.

There’s a reason every other club moans about parachute payments every time we beat them.

So long as he doesn't go all "Adkins" if we lose. Accept if you were crap, review, move on.

To be fair, you’re stuck somewhere around 1963 so you’re not likely to understand how the game has changed since then.

Yes, I know, but the likes of Norwich, Boro, WBA, Watford, Blackburn etc seem capable of functioning as clubs and signing decent players without parachute payments.

I’d hope we have broken through that glass ceiling. Anyway, no point going down the same rabbit hole again.

I'm astounded at the reaction to fist of all wilders sacking and secondly to this appointment

I just thought we were all on the same page

All I've heard from blades fans all season was moans and complaints about the style of play ,the players
The results and the myopic blades way bollox so I assumed every one wanted a change

As for this guy selles although I wouldn't compare records ( one is at the end of his career ,one at the start ) this is a guy I hoped we would go after at some point if we needed a new manager ,he reminds me of coberan who I thought was the best coach in the championship bar none
For once we have gone in early on someone and got in on the ground floor on someone who people who k ow a lot more than me thinks has tte potential to be an elite manager

Ive seen very little of him but what I have seen impreses me and I'd had enough of watching that cobbled together team passing it sideways and backwards then running out of steam after an hour .

Great squad with some real individual talent but while everyone else with Premier league aspirations is looking at pace power and athleticism we didn't seem that Interested in anything other than being British and having mentality which we also sadly lacked when the chips were down

I look forward to finally catching up with the modern game that had been slowly leaving us behind
