With the kindest intentions if you really think Wilder did nothing considering the squad remains he had to pick up you really are blind. Think back to December and the depth of the squad. I know it's hard to in this heat wave.
Tell me the squad depth in January other than Choudray who made a defining contribution
Diaz unfit played out of position
Clarke shocking
Cannon- say no more played as a lone striker ffs
Holding - bloody baffling by the Manager
All bit players bar Choudray all
Summer recruitment was good but we could attract some quality then with the third biggest budget
So it was 90% the team prior to January who played out the rest of the season

Interesting he’s been announced as “manager” not “head coach”. No DoF?

It is going to be an interesting time.

Whether it works or not remains to be seen. but I think it's going to be an exciting journey.

I think we needed a change, whether this season or next.

We need to be patient though. I suspect this is a two-year project. Progress is the key thing.

The second year being firesale? It’s a one year project - he has to get us up this year. No ifs or buts.

If we’re nowhere near autos approaching Christmas, he won’t survive. I doubt the fans, or more importantly the board, would have it.

Might have been said before but if this guy was called Robert Sellars and his team hadn’t beaten us 0-3 at the lane, I doubt that the wank fest over him would have been as fervent in the past few days.
That said, I hope he does us a reight job.

An interview from Selles to follow and more detail from the board.

Looks like they have decided it's time to step into the breech.

Be interesting to see what the board have to say

Good luck Ruben. Now get signing some players !! 😂

i think he needs to be given a chance .., sadly if we get off to a losing start we will be chanting Wilders name , i wish him the best UTB FTP
From my experience the attending crowd don’t tend to copy the online social media narrative.
I think he’ll get a decent reception and backing and can’t see Wilders name being chanted early on if we have a few defeats.

No idea what will happen and certainly wouldn’t have made this decision but we’ll see, he could be great or shot. As Jokanovic taught us a manager’s record isn’t as important as sometimes considered

Jokanovic wasn’t backed at all and had to deal with an absolute shitshow behind the scenes. This seems a lot more methodical in thought.

It's an omen,my grandfathers name was Reuben,a cert to succeed.

I don't buy that to be honest.

I think a lot of the investment comes this year but I very much doubt the owners would have sacked Wilder if all they cared about was promotion in the first season.

We have to find £40m from somewhere when the parachute payments run out. Think people have forgotten what Championship life is like when you don’t have parachute payments.

He’s got to get us up IMHO. Shit or bust.

There is every chance this could blow up in our faces. The owners have sacked a very popular man who achieved an incredible points total last season and is dear to all of us. They've slapped their nads on the table and are likely very aware that they'll get pelters from all angles if this goes badly.

But I don't understand the doom and gloom predictions about a chap who clearly has a wealth of varied experience and hasn't had a crack at a club that isn't a complete basket case. From what I've watched and read, he talks the talk. We now need to get behind him and see if he can walk the walk with dem Blades.

There will be those waiting in the wings ready to say 'I told you so', I'm sure. But that's looking back. And football, like life, only moves forward. We don't know what might have been with Wilder in this coming season, so let's focus on what will be with Ruben.
