Any theories on why we went full strength with Carlisle but not Peterborough? Is Nige writing off Preston away and going with squad players there?

I was very surprised to see that line-up last night! Scougall's guts must be water, bless him.

If I was to hazard a guess cloughy would have asked the players first of all if they were fit n able to play last night, secondly we have 5 days before Preston then 5 again before wolves giving players time to recover, I'd also guess a couple might be rested vs Preston probably on the bench in case needed, maybe prioritising wolves game, 125 years and probably biggest game in league one this season, either way changes or not we have proved we can cope after putting in over half a second 11 and still play well and win.

Peterborough was days before an FA Cup Quarter final, Carlisle wasn't.

Job done.

Said in an interview he went round each of them 'do you want a rest?' And no one said they did. Out of fear of losing their place for wembley. Should be a real incentive to put in a performance each game. Think we will have to play better to get a result on Monday though.

Sounds like something Nigel might do blader.
I believe the first priority was always avoid relegation. That is basically achieved after last night.
The next, may have been to keep the momentum and possibly set a record...a great feel-good factor and achievable goal.

Lastly, other upcoming games look more difficult. It made sense to trt and win this one.

Most likely, the strategy was to win this in the first half and then throw 3 pairs of fresh legs on in the second.
