This so called Fans Advisory board

That is pretty embarrassing all round.

How can the club comment on something which hasn't been announced yet?

We are not Chris Wilder FC. Thank goodness our actual board seems to appreciate that as fans advisory board can't seem to get their head around it.

It's pathetic mate imho.

I'm all for good communication from the club's custodians and I haven't liked some of the stuff in recent years but this is just pure impatience and entitlement.

24 hour rolling news and social media doesn't help this obsession with knowing everything all the time and I get that some are really disappointed about Wilder leaving, but quite frankly I've found the reaction of so many Blades this last week not only disappointing, but in too many cases, downright pathetic.

They are sticking their oar in and dont represent for all the Blades fans. They cannot understand that the club cannot make comments when a legal issue is being sorted. They are just a few impatient people jumping up & down moaning!

Who are they? Who appointed them to speak on our behalf and what is their remit?

First I’ve seen of them so I presume it’s a new thing

Re: Yer Letter

Ey up Bob,

Hope this finds yer well an’ yer brew's still warm.

Now then, we’ve had a butcher’s at yer letter, and while we do appreciate the passion – aye, you lot love the Club like it’s yer own bairn – we just wanted to remind you that runnin' a football club ain't the same as pickin’ a team for five-a-side down’t working men's club.

Let’s be reyt here: we’ve just taken over, we’ve got plans brewin’, and believe it or not, we don’t need a committee of armchair gaffers tellin' us when to blink or fart. We know what we’re doin’. Rome weren’t built in a day – and neither was Bramall Lane.

As for press conferences an’ all that – we’ll talk when there’s summat worth sayin’. Until then, maybe let us get on wi’ the job, and you lot focus on what you do best: singin’ outta tune on match day and moanin' about pie prices.

If Chris Wilder goes or stays, if AI takes over the dugout, or if we sign a right-back from Barnsley who only eats Wotsits – rest assured, we’ll let you know when it’s time. Until then, belt up, grab a pint, and let us do our bloody jobs.

Up the Blades – and up yours (respectfully).

Cheers,
Stephen Bettis

Sheffield United CEO

Yeah, like that bloke who wanted to create a singing section, or the people who want safe standing or complain about the food and drink on offer at the stadium.

Just shut up. You know nothing, our owners know best, and they don't need to be wasting their time speaking to the likes of you.

We’re probably overdue a press conference with Bettis anyway, and clearly we’ll need one post appointment of Selles.

I don't think there's anything bad in this. They still haven't really had a full sit down interview ( including Bettis) since the takeover.

The only thing I don't think needs asking is how will changing manager directly change some of their plans

I can't see why any blade wouldn't want to hear from them with regards to the future 🤷‍♂️

Was started a few years ago as a Premier League initiative where every club had to hold meetings with the fans. To be fair to United they carried it on when we were relegated. Some good people on the board and some good things have come from it such as reopening the fan park and the safe standing talks.

This seems to be a bit odd though when there's obviously legal issues before the club can announce anything. To be fair a minority of fans are acting like the club has been destroyed so they probably got loads of messages asking for statements about something they can't make a statement about yet. Understandable that people aren't happy about writing a letter on behalf of the fans when the Wilder thing is such a divisive issue.

The timing is the issue I think. Obviously there is a lot of division at the moment so wiring this as if all the fans are on the same page when they're not will rub people up the wrong way

I think it’s the point that we’re clearly not going to get any information on CW now until his settlement is concluded, nor any information on Selles until his deal is done.

I'm hoping that they will use this change of direction to do exactly what the letter says tbf so I think the timing is perfectly fine 🤷‍♂️

Never heard of them, so they’re clearly not acting on my behalf.

What’s their remit, it’s clearly not representing fans or communicating with fans on club matters…

As probably the biggest blades forum, you’d think they’d communicate on here

Needs a bit more work, there's not enough "......" in there.

I’d just send a quick response back “yeah, fuck off you bunch of weapons”

And what about the other stuff involved that's more long term? It doesn't have to be the two man guys even just a Bettis interview which was the norm under the Prince would be sensible

In his defence, we don’t know the precise timing as someone has cropped the date off.
