Taking a step back myself.

Didn't this happen last time when CW did leave?
News broke the day before we'd heard he'd gone.

If people are leaking within the club, it shouldnt be hard to find out where it comes from.

Who is here now who was here last time?

If it's not true that wilders job is in doubt,,why don't the club put a short statement out saying nothing going on, business as usual

I'm very much on the fence about Wilder, but there are some major red flags in that this season he is still making the same mistakes as in his last season here. Firstly still playing his favourites instead of better players ie Lundstram last time and Robinson this time. Secondly transfers Brewster, now Cannon. Third point no in game change of tactics other than hoping to defend a narrow lead.
Finally his my way or the highway attitude. After the capitulation of last season his lack of self awareness is probably the final straw for the new owners who are likely to be far more hands on that the previous one.

We didn’t seem to get many leaks under Heckingbottom.

These are all the points why I’m more on the “get rid” side of the fence. I’d love him to stay and for it work out in the long term, but realistically since 2020, he’s not really tried anything new, or exciting, or seems to have recognised any errors of his ways.

Rosenior doing OK at Strasberg, rumoured to be on €35k per week

Good manager, but can't see him leaving a Ligue 1 successful club for the Championship. Recently signed a new deal too.
He's still inexperienced and unproven and if Wilder does go I'd much rather someone who has shown real potential in England or is proven. Roseniors record is mixed at best, he's never got a team promoted or kept a team up etc, although I appreciate Derby was a tough gig

I'm not saying Rohl but he's someone that is an example of a manager who has done well in difficult circumstances, Liam Manning another but he's left already obviously. Dave Challinor from Stockport would be right up there in my thinking as an example.

His style of play& tactical nous + his substitutions have become stale, boring and nobody can work out his pattern of play! Don't really know what will happen with him, it's not the same Wilder as before though! Who wanted to " have a go" and entertain. Maybe he's ready for a change of scenery, but fans thinking he's going to go back to the old Wilder...forget it! Coming out of games last season, found me scratching my head of how the fck! We won that! And then the Oxford/ Millwall/ Plymouth, fiasco didn't for me, fckg garbage!

Either we haven’t made a decision yet, or he’s done and it’s getting finalised. I’m struggling to believe it’s the former.

It feels just a matter of time.
Might just be rubbish but it feels to me like we're in a weird position as a club, it's almost like were on the cusp of potentially being able to try and survive in the PL with that extra push while simultaneously stuck in our Wilder years of being underdogs and scrappy but with a losing mentality of late.

I can't bring myself to sit on either side of the fence on this one. I like Wilder, he's certainly deserving of his criticism but I think he's a good man for the job and if we stick with him then I'll back him but similarly I can see how the club kinda needs to move on from those Wilder years because that spark just isn't quite there anymore. You get glimpses definitely but I do think the club will likely be looking multiple years down the line and I'd be surprised if Wilder is still in their vision.

Whatever happens I judt hope its amicable, I'd love Wilder to remain a huge ambassador for the club and despite the bumps in the road I think as fans he deserves our respect. I lost alot of it when he walked but fair play to him for coming back and trying to rectify it.

Is another rumour true? The owners/board of Sheffield United have interviewed sausage roll twice. That certainly would be very interesting, it would upset the wendyites if true or is someone somewhere stirring it. I think the latter could be some twat in leeds.

Well if Chansiri doesn't pay him soon presumably he can just walk out on his contract.

Blimey, imagine wilder having to deal with this. He would hang himself !

I keep seeing 92 points mentioned constantly.

Was the owners first game in charge the Burnley game? What was our points return since then if spread over a season? (Genuine question btw)

Maybe the owners are looking at it that way as we were top of the league when they came in, they then spent a fair chunk in January. We then managed to blow automatic promotion and the playoffs after being in commanding positions for both.

Because only players with enormous price tags can ever become PL level talent. You'd never sign someone for peanuts from Boreham Wood and develop him into an international level player who beat England in midweek. That never happens, so we shouldn't try. Much better to buy Kieffer Moore and Tom Cannon instead. They're known Championship quantities and we're a Championship team, so that's what we should do.
This is where patience comes in. To sign a player of Ndiaye's current calibre would set you back £30mil+ now. But he didn't cost us that back when we found him.

We signed him as future potential with a view of developing him to a first team player over 2-3 seasons, and that is exactly what happened.

This is exactly what the new owners are trying to do with the three new wingers. Who says they won't all potentially turn into the next Ndiaye in 2-3 years time.

We'll still need players in the interim until they're ready so not all recruitment will be AI led.

The American Way is to plan what your team in 3 seasons time might look like now and the team for the season after that. Start building and developing now and promotion may need to be sacrificed in the short term in the name of progressing and improving players.

We've seen more success in doing this with players like David Brooks and Iliman Ndiaye than we have done producing players from scratch in the academy. Phil Jagielka, Michael Tonge, Nick Montgomery, Stephen Quinn and the latter two, all labelled as our "academy products," when in reality we picked them up from other clubs academies, stuck them in ours for a season before they made the first team. Even Matt Lowton was only in our academy for three seasons before making the first team. Sydie Peck is another example.

Our academy has seen some results such as Walker, Naughton, Maguire, Ramsdale and Arblaster are all self produced players.

You are absolutely correct, but this won’t go down well with the premature ejaculators. If we don’t get more than 92 points they will consider it a failure no matter what developments for the future are taking shape.
