20/1 to go up? Sounds a decent bet! Fuck play offs let's go for auto!

Make the play offs or win the play offs?

If it's win the play offs it should be 25600000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/1

Those odds are shocking really. So one in seven times we would supposedly reach the playoffs from this position? Never! Ofcourse, weight of betting with make a difference, but still seems very low to me. I also agree with S5 slightly, that the value bet would be 20/1 for promotion. Howe often does the team with a late charge end up winning it?

After Tuesday I reckon we have about a 5% chance of getting in the play offs which equates to odds of 19-1 ( I think).

Obviously the bookies make their money on the irrational optimism of lots of people who will think "ooh 7-1, that means if I put £10 on, I get £80 back - get in there".

It's a nice idea, and if Peterborough continue on the same form they've had from 1st January then they'd finish on 69 points. Which means we'd need two points a game from here on in. And as well as we are *finally* doing, I don't think we will be able to do it.

When there was a poll on how many points we'd get a couple of months ago, I said we'd get 60 (I think). With the run we've had, I think we'll now get between 63 and 65.

Every time unless it's us.

I think for 1 they will be in worse form because theyve lost their main man in tomlin to m boro and for 2 we bring back brandy, not to play for us,just to stop him doing well for wallsall and 3 theres only going to be 1 team challenging pboro and thats us come on blades

We've never had a late run to get us into the Play-offs. We've always been firmly in the PO and just avoided missing out, or challenging for Auto promotion.

To get in play-offs we'd have to win at least 3 games from Rotherham/Brentford/Wolves/Leyton Orient/Preston/Swindon.

And thats presuming we'll beat Carlisle/Crawley/Oldham/Tranmere/Port Vale/Coventry.

This is why I don't fancy our chances.

IF - we do get to the play offs with NC in charge - whether it be this season or next - I have a feeling that we will break our duck, cos he knows what the fuck he is doing compared to the other bell ends we have had leading us into ignominy in the past

Wasn't Blackwell's first season a close run thing? I seem to remember us just running out of games and missing the play offs by a few points.

We went into the last game at Southampton with an outside chance if we won and other results went our way. For one brief moment in the first half, we were 1-0 up and the other results were indeed going our way. putting us in 6th place.

As it happens, we ended up losing 3-2, missed out by 4 points and finished 9th and the other results were such that, even had we won, we would still have ended up 9th (Wolves missed out by 1 goal!)

Kendall, Warnock, Blackwell and Wilson all bell ends?

Yes, but we didn`t actually get there. the 2-2 draw with the unclean was probably the result that really did for us.

We also had a very strong end to kendalls first half season. Another 5 games and weprobably would have made the PO that year as well.
It was an attempt at humour.

Nothing funny about our play-off record...

Might have changed the whole course of history if we'd got there that season (before whatever it was caused Howie to completely lose his bottle the following season) as I think we'd have gone on to win the thing. A great "what might have been".

.

It did for us in the sense that had we won that game and the last game of the season (when, as I mentioned above, we lost at Southampton), we would have sneaked into 6th place, so the Wednesdsay game on its own was not vital.

Mind you, in 08-09 Wednesday did the double over us and we mised out on automatic by 3points (with a better GD than 2nd placed Birmingham). Had we won one of those games....
