Again over this last week or so, we have had many people mentioning how long they have been hanging on the phone waiting to book tickets.
    1. 18 minutes ago - SunderlandBlade:
I could have If the people i'm going with could decide before the week of the game, but I don't think I had the choice of collection online so I would have had them posted out to Sunderland when I would be in Sheffield
    2. 20 minutes ago - SunderlandBlade:
just asked them, its 10ppm on a bt landline, so £6 for the phone call and £1 booking fee,
    3. 21 minutes ago - SotonBlade:
I swear they're keeping that record now just for a laugh
    4. 24 minutes ago - Balham Blade:
so an hour would cost £21
    5. 24 minutes ago - Balham Blade:
      on my mobile it's 35ppm
    6. 25 minutes ago - WhiteHawk:
      Can't you do it online?
    7. 27 minutes ago - SunderlandBlade:
anyone know how much it costs per minute to phone the ticket office, currently on 59 minutes, oh joy
    8. 28 minutes ago - SunderlandBlade:
"please have your customer number readaaayyyy"
    9. 31 minutes ago - SunderlandBlade:
ha ha ha, I just done that, never knew it was James Morrison, I now have an irrational dislike of him
    10. 32 minutes ago - S5Blade:
Why not listen to it on your PC aswell...... :D
    11. 33 minutes ago - SunderlandBlade:
      ....for the last time....
    12. 36 minutes ago - S5Blade:
      Let me hold you.....
    13. 40 minutes ago - SunderlandBlade:
Phoning the United ticket office is one of life's most excruciating and tedious experiences

  • When is our club out of its present phone contract? and can we start a campaign for them to have a standard or free number so if we the fans have to listen to James and Nelly, at least it is not costing a fortune.

Got mine on line it took about 1 minute. I know I am a season ticket holder so mine were reserved, but if you can get to a computer, it makes life easier for everyone, surely.

Turned up at 7-20 and discovered I'd forgottenc my season card last night, first time ever I think. I queued for exactly 30 minutes to get a replacement and was not a happy Esky. The queue moved very slowly indedd.

There was a pay on the day till open for away fans to go straight up to.

Why cant there be a pay on the day turnstile to cut down the queue in the car park.

Last night wasn't right but I enjoyed what I saw of the match

One for the next fans focus group?

I too don't understand the need to bottleneck three stands worth of PATG punters who turn up at quarter to three and don't get in until ten past. Have to confess there were a couple of occasions last season when weighing up the pros and cons of coming down, this factor tipped me in favour of watching Jeff and the Boys.

I know there will be cries of get there earlier, get out of the pub, get more organised etc etc, but even if it means you have to sit in one area of the ground (Upper Corner?), just one measly cash turnstile would make a big difference.

I don't think the club would go for cash turnstiles any more, but it was asked why the window on the away end wasn't re-sited when the hotel was built. And we have raised the question of a ticket window in John Street to prevent people having to walk all the way around. Will raise it again at the next meeting.

Cock Piss Partridge.

They may well form part of Peteys sick life but, if not, they belong squarely to Alan Partridge and the grafitti dawbed on his car in the "I'm Alan Partridge" series.

Ahh - you see, not being an aficionado, that went right over me

....... not the cock

....or the piss

and partridges aren't the best flyers

It's intrigued me for a while Pete but those three words underneath your forum handle....

Are they your favourite food, drink and pastime?

Other than that it seems such a random selection.

In the first episode of I'm Alan Partridge somebody spray paints COCK PISS PARTRIDGE on the side of Alan's Rover 800.

He subsequently can't get it off so he improvises by modifying it to read COOK PASS BABTRIDGE.

Still think my version is the correct one :)

So we sell out for the first time in years and people complain of delays ?!?
It's not so much the delays as the fact that it costs a lot of money to be hanging on that phone line for ages.
people harp on about getting internet bookings and for some it does not work out right. The phone line is provided to allow people another way of getting tickets. If it is not needed for that then get rid of it. It should NOT be used as an extra money making tool for the club against the fans. For those that think it is perfectly acceptable to do so then how would you feel if the club put a £2.5 premium on internet bookings and a £1.5 premium for personal collections?

Thanks Linz
But really, why not a cash turnstile? They do at other grounds. And surely it would pay for itself. Why not someone walking the queue with tickets, cash only and bruiser to assist? (remember the walking pie man at the back of the kop?)

I never usually miss kick off and was really suprised how long it took the Q to go down. Is it like that every week?
A rough estimate is that there was 150 in the queue. Assuming most are, for whatever reason buying tickets, say 75 % and they are buying 1 each. That's around £2k income. And I felt sorry for the staff who took some stick.

I guess many were 'floating' supporters who you really want to encourage and I was suprised very few pissed off.

When were you last in a queue for half an hour for anything? Thanks for bringing it up at the next form.

With a bit of luck we will be complaining about Wembley tickety allocation next! UTB

Perhaps you should raise the possibility of have a non premium telephone lone as they cannot get the phone answered in a reasonable time, or take on some temp staff for these occasions. Please.
