Will we sell out?

A quick fag packet calc from me is over 20,000 sold.

This shows how much each tier holds:
View attachment 211024

Wembley holds 90,000 (as per above). Both teams have been given 35.5K each which is 71K which means 21% of capacity is sold to sponsors and players families etc...

Remove 21% from those figures above and you are left with:
  • Lower = 27,100
    • Divide by 2 = 13,550 (United allocation)
  • Middle = 13,060
    • Divide by 2 = 6,530 (United allocation)
  • Upper = 30,940
    • Divide by 2 = 15,470 (United allocation)
The bottom and middle tier appears to have fully sold out, apart from the odd singles which equates to 20,080.
The North side of upper tier is selling now but i'm not counting them so it's 20,080 + whatever has gone on the upper so far.

The greyed out south side of upper tier (Blocks 514-527) is around 7.7K, so when that opens up for sale, we will have sold ~ 27,850 tickets

Isn’t half of the middle tier Club Wembley? E.g. the greyed out part of the seating plan on the ticket information

1747391890959.webp

So with that being the case, I’d say we’ve probably only had about 3k for the club to sell directly

I think that is a slight over estimate of how many we have sold as we don’t have half of the tickets to sell, more like 38%. I imagine the 20,000 held back for neutrals are skewed towards the more expensive seats (?).

I reckon we’ve sold just over 20,000 so far in total (including those sold on top tier)
Sorry mattbianco1 : just realised I misread your post and you had already deducted the neutrals. I agree with your maths. 😀

The sold out signs will be up at Sunderland this afternoon. what would be beyond the pale is if there are yawning gaps in the seats or whole blocks unsold when Sunderland could easily shift 50000 tickets. Loads of Sunderland are going to miss out given that 35000 tickets dont go around an average of over 40000 fans.

hopefully Wembley will give Sunderland more tickets over the coming days.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Sheff Utd will be wanting more tickets too.

I wouldn’t really use comments on this forum as an accurate guide.
What you have to realise that Sheff Utd fans are historically negative where as Sheff Wednesday fans are historically positive.

So on any United forum there will always be comments like “no way will we sell 30K” and “Don’t know why anyone is going because we’ll lose” etc.

Where as on the Sheff Wed forum they enjoy exaggerating or even making positive stuff up
So you’ll read comments like “I heard there was 75K applications for those 38K tickets” and “not many clubs could sell out Wembley just with their own fans” etc.
Then they tell each other how massive they are and how they should be competing in the PL with the likes of Man City and Arsenal.

Then the truth later comes out they had 60K applications not 75K but many 1000’s have 2 ID refs for the same person.
Which explains why they always struggle to break 30K for home matches.

Quite a lot of United fans love to downplay the club…also you find quite a lot of Wednesday fans pretending to be United fans, pushing a negative agenda..
We could be 6 points clear at the top with 6 matches left and quite a lot of our fans will still be predicting we’ll mess up….thats becuase in the past we have.

Where as most Sheff Wed are desperate to up play and advertise on national radio their clubs stature and fanbase.
Their team could be 6 points behind a play-off place with 6 matches left and their fans will still be predicting they’ll finish in the play-offs.
That’s because regards some of their past promotions they’ve had a fantastic finish to the season, so their always seem to have a confidence.

Both clubs should have got 40000 at least. Absolutely crazy in a 90000 stadium leaving 19000 neutral tickets. The game should sell out - easily - and should be the highest ever championship play off final crowd.

hopefully both clubs get 5000 more tickets each.

Absolutely mental if there are unsold blocks or yawning gaps in blocks.

Looking at what Yes posted a few posts up (i.e. the ground map), that seems optimistic, even though it'd be nice. Looks like half the middle tier is completely unavailable which I assume is for those with Wembley memberships as opposed to our fans buying in the Club Wembley level as part of the general allocation. There'll be the usual holding back for the likes of the EFL, Sky Bet etc which'll take away some more. I would guess these alone would both be used, and in enough numbers that there physically wouldn't be 5k seats to give to each team in the first place

Edit - you're probably also losing at the bare minimum a few hundred for segregation purposes

I’d imagine a lot of those club Wembley tickets will end up in the hands of United and Sunderland fans anyway. I wouldn’t have thought the playoff final is that much of a draw to the neutrals.

Eh?

Can’t you use Google?

And now you’re 6th in the championship attendances table (behind us) and behind 17 premier league teams and also Birmingham…

Flaky fans.

Everton, Villa, Chelsea and Spurs were all having groundwork done due to the Taylor report which is any their attendances are so low. There may have been other clubs you. Surely you didn't think you were getting better crowds than Spurs?

The point is that if this game is part of what is included in their membership (I don't know if it is), then the ticket has already gone. It might end up in someone's hand through some secondary market, but the types I'm referring to are paying a fair wedge (for a minimum of three year's commitment) and probably aren't saying no to the game

Did you get sorted for tickets mate?

probably down to selling north to south so wont be opening any south blocks at any level until north go ticket office and plenty said same nowhere near 20k.gone yet
Ahh I see. With the Man City one I accepted the low sales were due to us being on a hiding to nothing, it will be less forgivable if we sell poorly on this occasion. Perhaps a a chunk of people have decided to wait until their mates/family are eligible so they can all buy together?

Lower and middle tier South blocks were on sale on Weds (and mainly sold out)

Re the OP 'I am in a 56 min queue waiting for 4 so hopefully we r shifting a lot.
Given how it seems they are selling 'by blocks'i might just wait if I can't get what I want today

Can't wait for the Wendy's to spot the empty corporate seats, and then say that they're ours and how tin pot we are for not filling them 😂

Why do you care about Sunderland fans missing out? You’re on a United forum.

Out of interest, what’s your queue number?
