Play-Offs......

It would be one of the all time miracles of football for United to make the playoffs.

If we did, and played PNE in the final then one team's hoodoo will have to go. Or perhaps the Gods can create a scenario in which we're both disqualified somehow.

What will happen is that the cup run will end with a feeling so near, yet so far. We will still be able to take a great deal of credit for it.

Realistically in the league the best we can expect is a decent finish to the season and a top half finish.

I think Nigel Clough is going to use the run in this season to put the building blocks in place for next season, and i can see already it is promising to be a belter

so win on Tuesday , we will be 8 points from being able to get in the play offs and be 9 points above the drop zone , so be nearer going up than down

If we win every game from now to the end of the season we might get into the top two. :D

Will need to win at least 10 out of the last 14 games, that would give us 71 points, Not impossible, but I reckon it's too much. Also, it will most likely need at least 74 points for play offs, so we realistically need 11 wins out of 14, and to overturn our poor goal difference.

Its not going to happen. Lets just get to the FA Cup final instead :)

With our play-off form, we could be guaranteed a play-off spot and be no nearer going up than going down!

It is nice to be looking up with hope, rather than down with fear, though. Long may it continue.

With the top 5 already looking all but into the play-offs the last position could be taken with anything from 70 to 80 points - at the bottom end of that we have a slight chance - towards the top no chance

Too little too late for me. GD is a major factor.
We'll just have to get more points than the 7th placed team then ;)

Personally I think that we'll be running on empty by the end of the season.

And besides it's actually against the football law for the blades to win at wembley or win a play off final

You're kidding me our seasons just starting

Well we are now 3pts above the best team in the bottom half ............................ unfortunately that team is Crawley who have 4 games in hand on us. By no means impossible but highly unlikely we will get to the play offs, too many teams between us and sixth place for all of them to drop enough points to let us sneak in. The win today has put my relegation fears to rest but that's all, we may as well just enjoy the ride in the cup and league without getting our hopes up, anything gained is a bonus.

If we beat Posh we will be 8 points behind them with a game in hand and 13 games left to play,
2 or 3 weeks ago thinking about the play offs was ridiculous but it is now a possibility.
It's a funny old game :)

I'd be happy with top 10 it would be great that, glad to see cloughs hard work paying off

Is the play-off final after the FA Cup final? Just making some notes for my diary.

Don't want to double book with Chiropodist, Dentist, Optician or Barber.

In short we'd have to go on a run of 7-8 more straight wins just to get us in with the smallest hope .
We also have all the current top 7 left to play. It's a nonsense to be thinking about it at this stage given those fixtures.

We have played the same number of games as Peterborough.

January was the killer month. We dropped something like 9 points from winning positions.

We play the top 7 in the next 9 games- we will do well to be still 6 points above the relegation zone after that lot - especially if we get a few injuries.

GD might be important but if we can finish 1 point ahead of 7th be utterly irrelevant , mind you we are nearly back to a positive gd dont forget 14 more wins could make us plus 20 , think laterally

its not what our gd is now but on may 7th or whenever it ends
