BBD gives you more energy and is much more effective.

JRS is more of a wild card, doesn’t work as hard but is capable of producing some magic from no where.
Also isn’t BBD preferred position on the left wing…..not the right wing?

Based on recent performances BBD has been the better player…..played quite well. JRS is too hit or miss.

Given how ill disciplined Hamer can be tracking back an attacking full back - how would he fare next year should we go up? I wonder whether we should start trying him in the middle, if only because that would surely be his optimum position next season?

Diaz to me is best as a centre forward, that is where he played for us in the Prem.amd where he has played for Chile. I don't think it helped his career playing left wing for Villarreal or Soton in teams that can't dominate games. he does not offer much as a winger (left or right) but it is great asseet that he can play there and give a second striker at the same time. Having said that JRS also seems a good goalscorer.as well, plus he offers more in terms of his ability to run at and commit players. I think I would go with BBDs experience in the run in. But for example if Campbell was injured, my preference would be to have BBD down the middle and JRS on the right.

Yeah which is really really weird and will
Be another problem in the prem should we get there
Its what fucked us last time. For all the shite we brought in, poor game day tactical decisions by both managers, selling our best player - the fact that every week we looked like an Under 11's side playing in a Under 18's league is what really did for us.

For all Tufty's rhetoric in his 16 minute diatribe, getting the strength & conditioning right and running an elite sporting programme is going to be the biggest game changer that shifts the dial.

I remember that first season in the prem under him…

We came back from pre-season looking like absolute machines… sharp and Baldock in particular sprig to mind….and it showed over the season

Since then though it’s been a frantic decline

Lundstram was the poster boy for that campaign. He looked like he'd spent the Summer with Lance Armstrongs nutritionist!!

As you say, since that season we've looked like amateurs in a professional world. We're still the only side i see with players going down with cramp....

still think campbell and bbd would make a great front 2 especially in home games dont think bbd has really got going yet this time round but do think theres more to come from him

BBD for me.

Just don't think JRS gets the ethos of being a Blade and playing for Sheffield United.

Seems a bit too laid back and not willing to give blood, sweat and tears to ensure the team wins.

Seems to be playing for himself more than the actual team.
JRS has been a really disappointing signing, particularly after all the hype. I don't think he's settled in Sheffield and it's been a wasted season for him. Big season for him next year and he needs to kick on, wherever he ends up.
BBD as been OK but bearing in mind his contract and wages at Southampton, I wouldn't sign him whatever division we are in next season.

Are most people still favouring Diaz for the right wing over Rak-Sakyi? For me he's either left side or a strike partner to Campbell. For Right wing I just don't see how he's better than Rak-Sakyi other than helping defend a bit more.

Anyone know what was up with our loan stars Rak-Sakyi and Brereton Diaz? Have we still got them for the play-offs or did we fudge the contracts?

Brookes.

Country mile.

It’s disappointing to me that the pathway for Brookes has been largely blocked by the 2 players in the poll. Mistake from where I am sat 👀!

On top of which, Andre would be further down his development if said pathway had not been blocked in this way.

He's also been poor in some games.... His development looks to be going well

46 League games is a long season and as many of us here keep pointing out, its about the squad and we've needed them all. I didn't watch last nights game but i would guess that Brooks is looking fresh and not as leggy as BBD or JSR have done towards the end of the season.

Wouldn't surprise me if there are additional payments/bonuses are due for the play offs and the owners had decided they do not want to play them if possible.

He has been better, and more consistent than BBD and JRS and that’s really the point.

The fact I also believe he has a much higher ceiling than either amplifies my disappointment at his playing 2nd fiddle for the most part this season.

But you don't see him everyday his consistency, the coaches and manager do, Brooks looked better at the Start and end of the season. He could count himself unlucky at times, but JSR looked decent mid season when Brooks just didn't seem to be making the squad (not sure of injuries) and of course bringing BBD back was a big lift as well. That said, BBD hasn't ended the season the same player as last season, but his contributions aren't bad for fewer games (but probably more mins overall, without checking)

In hindsight, It’s a shame that a Palace didn’t accept the £17m bid from Leeds for JRS, when they tried to derail our loan deal.

I think JRS has been harshly treated and has had nowhere near enough minutes this season. Only Campbell has a a better scoring frequency in minutes.

I hope he and Seriki both make the bench for the final (should we make it) as they, along with Davies, can completely change our team from the bench if needed.

I hope JRS isn't on the bench, he's a far more effective starter and barely makes much impact as a sub.

Start JRS, sub on Brooks who actually does make an impact. BBD nowhere near the right wing.

Just to fine-tune this info a little bit (see below)

It does suggest there isn't much between the 3 players and perhaps Brooks deserved more of a run. He has tended to blow hot & cold, but if he can find some consistency we have another major talent on our hands (bear in mind Palace rejected offers of £15m+ for JRS in the Summer).

BBD must still have that virus that made him miss Blackburn, wonder where JRS is though.

Brooks made a big impact when he came on last night, but I thought Brewster had a good first half at RW as well.

He's had about the right amount of minutes based on his performances and injuries.
He's been a really disappointing loan .
