One of the worst misses I have ever seen for us

His movement in and around the box is top drawer. Almost always where he should be. The exact opposite to Brewster. Two runs first half (one narrowly offside). Three great pieces of movement in the box. I can see why he has the goal record at this level that he does. It's s bit weird to have a striker with his skill set. Very strange for us. I'd love to see him playing off a target man type. Should've scored one or two today mind.

Give the lad a chance FFS.. getting on his back when he's not had any service all season
Well take your dark glasses off. He is so shit it's unbelievable. He is worse than Brewster. That was such a crap shot. He wanted the glory of hitting into the roof of the net instead of scoring. Absolute wanker of a player.

Just shows Wilder cant buy forwards.

Should have scored definitely no doubt but the pass was behind him and the keeper came out quick. Definitely not one of the worst misses I've seen for us, if anything there was a worse one in the same game earlier.

If you think that miss was so bad as to warrant this post title, I think you've lived quite the sheltered life as a Blade.

Multiple factors at play. Firstly, Cannon starts to make a move towards goal for a tap in. Immediately after, COH plays the pull back in such a manner, that it will go behind Cannon. And so, Cannon has to halt his movement instantly just to be able to reach the ball.

From there, he needs to swivel to face goal and shoot. I think he has time to do these as 2 separate actions to be fair, but he chooses to do it all at once.

Should he have hit the target? Yes. But it's laughably reductive to call it one of the worst misses, when it was anything but.

I can immediately think of 2 misses that were far, far worse:

A) Connor Sammon (So bad it doesn't need any further description);
B) Jags' rebound at Old Trafford after "that" save by Seaman. To not hit the target with that one was criminal.

If you don't like the guy, fine. That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. Shouldn't let your bias towards him cloud your judgement though.

He should have scored. It was a game that didn't matter. He scored a harder chance at Burnley when it did matter at the time. This is the wrong thing to focus on at this time. We're the best team in the playoffs by far admittedly it's not a high standard. Who do we start upfront? We should win them. A lot will rest on CW's decision making.

I remember CR7 missing a worse chance in front of the Bramall lane end.

Hamer today missed one worse than Cannons anyway

Whilst most clapped him off, there was a bloke near me who stood up with his back to the pitch whilst he walked off the pitch. Maybe he was trying to protest against chairman and got the wrong ground.

He missed two sitters that day. The Cannon miss today wasn't even the worst miss in the game.

Just remember we had Chris Guthrie
Jostein Flo
Connor Sammon..Cannon has plenty competition for worst miss ever.

Take a bow Tom Cannon 👏 👏

Hope he is nowhere near the squad for the play-offs.

With that said nice to see him applauded off by our fans, very sporting.
Always great to get the opinion of someone who is elite level at everything
Tell us all how everything in life just comes easy to you and you've never had to face adversity or support anyone through it

I bet you have a six pack a supermodel missus and a sports car
Well done sir

Exactly. We do it in general play. Often passing behind a player forcing them to stop in order to receive it ather than being able to run onto it and keep the movement flowing

There was another example with Cannon in this game in the second half.. He peeled off near post and got a yard. The ball was played to him but behind him. He had to check and shoot from an awkward spot when his superb movement should've been rewarded with a great chance to score.
