He’s obviously a fantastic player but that clearly shows how overrated he is because how did he win it over Dan James, Trafford etc the list can go on.

I’m happy for the lad but that’s an absolute robbery.

Gus has been very good, he is a great player. I don't think he's had the best season at the club. That's not a knock on him, but I think that Cooper has been sensational.

But Hamer is right up there with them isn't he?

In a way I'd liken him slightly to mcgoldrick. On form he's unplayable. If he was on form every match he's a top 10 PL player. Currently he isn't that but the quality is there.

I've thought this before but sometimes his brain is expecting far more in return from the rest of the squad. Certain passes, certain 1-2' s not happening because they ain't on his wavelength.

It's a reason we should still want promotion. We go up and he probably stays and it's a position we can count on.

He definitely has the brightest star quality in the division. He's the most intelligent footballer in the division too.

I wouldn't say he's been consistently at it, on form or influential all season, though.

Still, I'm beyond delighted for the lad and glad that he's our player.

He has 16 goal contributions, from a position widely acknowledged as not being his best. Add in some moments of quality that few other players can pull off, and general ability to entertain, and that is probably why he has won it.

There are other players as deserving, but to claim that this is some kind of robbery, or "ridiculous" as stated in the shoutbox earlier, is way off the mark. He is without doubt amongst the very best players in the division, and by any standards has had an excellent season so far.

My thoughts exactly. Gus has games where he is the best player in this division. He can, and he has taken games by the scruff of the neck. There are also games where he looks uninspired, probably not helped by the fact that he's been shoved on the left for much of this season.

Still, he has changed games this season even when out of position. That alone shows he has the ability. Gus deserves to win this, even if I don't think he was the best player in the Championship across the whole season.

He would not get in either of those im afraid,premier players are so much more athletic,mobile,can pass,and brush aside players like Hamer who lose position and then gets yellow cards for a mistimed tackle trying to remedy the mistake.
