Vini & O'Hare, in my opinion, need minutes well before they step into a play-off game. A risk with Vini, but he's looked a bit rusty in his games back so far. I'd also be cautious of pulling Cannon out the team after his first goal and give him a chance to play without as much pressure to help him settle in. Whilst I think Brewster has occasionally offered something, he doesn't make it into my play-off starting line-up.

Although play-offs are secured, it's a very tricky one how we approach the next two games. We don't want to be in a position going into the play-offs with knackered first team players, low on fitness and risk injury/suspension, but we also don't want to go into them losing 2 games on the bounce, ridicule from the average fan and little match sharpness from key players.

For me, need a rest definitely for Stoke:
Hamer
Anel
Sydie
Campbell

Big balancing act ahead. UTB.

Cooper
Gilchrist - Anel - Holding - McCallum
Choudhury - Davies
Rak-Sakyi - O'Hare - Brooks
Cannon

For me, we need to play Holding and Anel together to build minutes and get a partnership together. Souza could do with getting some minutes too, but if Davies is fit, maybe do 45 each.

Cooper

-Gilchrist- Anel - Holding

Seriki Souza Choudhary McCallum

---------O'Hare--------

Cannon ----- Moore

Subs after 60 mins in red:

-Seriki- Anel - Holding McCallum

------Davies Choudhary

Rak-Sakyi----Brewster----- Brooks

----------Campbell

Mojo one other to add to your definitely need a rest is Burrows, although I see u didn't put him in your 11.

His drop off in performance the last 10 games or so is alarming. He looked very dangerous going forward earlier in the season but now he's turned into another drag it back and pass it backwards wide man.

--------------------Cooper
Gilchrist-Holding-Robbo-Burrows
-------Choudhury------Brooks
JRS-----------------------------------O'Hare
------Moore-------------Cannon

Prioritise resting Anel, Peck, Hamer and Souza, who have played more minutes than anyone else, bar Cooper and Burrows.

Robbo might just have to play as Anel needs a rest and we don't have another senior CB, unless Gilchrist switches to CB with Holding and Seriki plays RB.

Persist with the Moore + Cannon partnership, Campbell off the bench if needed, try and get Gilchrist into a bit of form/match fitness.

A few players out of their current positions, but should be enough to get past Stoke with a good performance.

Brooks played CM last season so wonder if it might be worth trying him in that box to box CM role again on Friday.

JRS and O'Hare out wide to run the channels and cut inside, Hamer and BBD on the bench to come on if required.

Cooper
Gilchrist Holding Robinson
Seriki Choudhury Davies McCallum
O'Hare
Moore Cannon

Blackburn:

Davies
Gilchrist Holding Anel McCallum
Choudhury Davies
JRS Brooks Brereton
Moore

Whilst we clearly want and need to look after our own interests, Stoke still have something to play for and teams below them need them to lose, and depending on what happens this weekend, it may well be similar for Blackburn.

I doubt we would anyway, but I wouldn't like to see us take the piss and not respect the integrity of the league.

Doesn’t Cannon score 4 goals when he plays against Stoke ?

Agreed and nor would the EFL !!

I really don't give a @@@@ about any other team. All other clubs look after their own interests and its cost us relegation in the past so @@@@ it

Shaking up the first team for me at the moment would be a bad move. I appreciate players may need rest but they're just about to head in to a play off battle. They could use these two games to gain back some confidence, get their heads settled and in the zone for whats coming.

You might not but the EFL might if we go too far.

Don't expect us to anyway.

lineup (1).webpI would like to see us use 2 wingers who stay wide when we have the ball in defence.

Playing Hamer off the left drifting in makes it easy for the opposition, as it allows them to defend narrow since they don't need to worry about anyone down the left wing, which in turn restricts space for passes. Open up the pitch and make them worry about wingers left and right.

If Wilder plays Hamer in these last 2 games and he gets the two more yellows for a three match ban?

Back to basics, as close to the team that played the majority as possible, with an eye on Hamer’s minutes for the yellow cards and also giving Holding 45-60 mins each game to get him ready for playoffs. Seriki has to play right back as we have to actually score goals and he seems to be one of our genuine attacking threats.
Cooper
Seriki Anel Holding Burrows
Souza Peck
RakSak O’Hare Hamer
Moore/Cannon/Campbell

……………….…....Davies

Gilchrist……Holding……….JLT……….Mcallum

Brooks…….Choudhury……Blacker……..BBD

…………Mooore…………Cannon

Don’t want to see Cooper, Hamer, Peck, Campbell, Souza, JRS play a single minute before the play offs if we loose anyone one of them to injury or suspension it should be a sackable offence for the manager

Anel I’d leave out as he’s on 13 yellows other wise he’s equally shite as Robbo

Holding needs the games and I’d like to see Moore and Cannon try to continue to form a partnership as it could be useful for next season if we are in the Championship

In practice there's a very small chance we'll have anything to do with the relegation battle now. Too many results would need to happen. This isn't technically a dead rubber but it's as near as damn it. I wouldn't mind us playing a few kids

Cooper
Gilchrist Holding Robinson
Seriki Choudhury Davies McCallum
O'Hare
Moore Cannon

Blackburn:

Davies
Gilchrist Holding Anel McCallum
Choudhury Davies
JRS Brooks Brereton
Moore
O'Hare needs game time Wilder seems to have dropped him but his energy helps get some quickness into the side instead of this jogging that has crept into the side.

No idea where these suggestions of Davies in midfield are coming from - when was the last time he was in the matchday squad? From what i can see, February? If he was fit, he’d surely be on the bench?

Hamer can only be risked in 1 of the last 2, so play him in the home game

Bigger concern is if he gets injured in a dead rubber.

He’s often feeling his calf muscles.

I would simply take him out. Maybe get him to do some cardio!

We should play without him the next two games because if he should happen to get injured in the Play offs at some point, then we don’t want to be in a situation where we don’t have a plan.

I’d be picking:

Davies
Choudhury Anel Holding McCallum
Rak-Sakyi Peck Souza Brereton-Diaz
Moore Cannon

Use Campbell and O’Hare in short bursts as I would still be tempted to start the play offs with them.

I’d say Cooper falls into the same category as Hamer. Too precious to risk losing.

I think Souza and Holding need games and are more likely to get injured if they don’t play.

Shackleton 😂😂😂

i wouldnt mind some experimenting. whether that playing BBD through the middle. or trying a different formation. trying 3 at the back or playing 433, or a 4312. to see if anything works, or rule things out for the play offs

Shackleton 😂😂😂
Rather rest Seriki, Hamza and get at least 1 start out of a lad that's spent more time dogging than wearing a blades shirt 🤷‍♂️

Either that or move Gilchrist to RB but then you're chucking Baptiste in for me.
