So baring some miracle in our favour; it is the play-offs then. Now CW has the chance of making history.

The first Sheffield United side in 100 years to win at Wembley, the first Sheffield United side to win the play offs. On league position alone it would be a travesty if someone else got there ffs, we've been in the top 3 mainly top 2 all season, so there is the opportunity Chris. But it is not the league competition anymore but a knockout one.

Trouble is, his record in knock out competitions with us is err pretty shite (stat someone please). This season alone P3 W1 L2. Who could forget Barnet at home. So there you have it Mr Wilder - go and smash it you bastard; we've waited long enough. No frigging tip tapying around like muscle toning exercises between the defence and 'keeper gerr it forard. You dont score goals at the back (last season excepted). You wouldnt have seen a DB/JH side fannying around it is the goal is >>>> that way. Now gerron with yer.

FFS Blades grab the opportunity with both fuckin hands, 'cos I'm fed up of not seeing you win 'owt.

Just said on another thread that you wont be playing us in the final if you make it.

We are absolutely shocking to watch ATM and have been playing very poorly for weeks now. I have no idea how we are still 4rth and haven't been caught. For some reason we appear to have been picking up scrappy 1 nil wins and away draws. We have won just 1 game by more than 1 goal since last November/December.

My take on it is that we may draw our away play off semi but may lose our home game - dreadful at home.

I think le Bris has been found out and without Jobe we are rotten. Never won a game when he has been absent.

His cup record, with us, isn't great but I generally felt he was concentrating on the league and was OK with that.

I'd not thought about the 100 year thing, would be great if we did do it. Preston were a bit like us in playoffs until 2015 when they won 4-0 on aggregate in the semis and 4-0 in the final - that'd be the way to do it!

I think a good 60% or the forum have "loss to Sunderland at Wembley" locked in as an absolute certainty.

You wont be playing us - nailed on. You have to go into the play offs with some sort of momentum and we have none. We'll get the game done away with the way we are playing.

Bloody hell it will be a right bore fest if we both managed to get too Wembley.

I don't think it quite works like that. In 2002-3 we were absolutely brilliant in knock-out competitions. Fat lot of good it did us in the first half at the Millennium Stadium vs Wolves.

Tell me about. I were that fucking angry I threw my scarf away in a skip at Newport station !

It will be what it will be. Football is a brilliant game and the fact that nobody can take anything for granted is one of the reasons for its wide appeal. I wish you 'good luck' (but not too much good luck). ;)

That's it ...I'm now convinced that we're going up via the playoffs.
100 years between Wembley victories , it's fate and written in the stars.
Lump on and UTB

I can understand people feeling pessimistic about our chances in a possible play off final, but the idea of not going is madness to me..

Winning at Wembley would be a fantastic day to be Blade and be part of it with friends, family and thousands of others. It could be the FA Cup (incredibly unlikely), League cup (almost equally unlikely), or a play-off final (far more likely), but it would literally be a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

The ONLY way to GUARANTEE you missed out on it would be … to not go.

It may be more likely we’d lose. And?
After 11 failed play-off campaigns, I think I’d hardly even feel it if we lost another one.
The idea that you’d watch the Blades for donkey’s years - and not be there for the one time the club wins at Wembley, because you thought they might lose, which - if it happened - would make you feel sad, just seems crazy to me.

IF we get there (not particularly confident of that), I will definitely be going full of excitement that we could actually do it, and could have that fantastic moment and fantastic day.
If I wasn’t going, I think I’d genuinely be asking myself what is the point of being a Blade then?

To be quite honest after last season I don’t really want to go up,
