Wilder says he ended the pigs season now he's ended ours

I wasn't a fan of his scenes after the derby, I felt they were premature. I know it's different (derby win vs bigger picture of the season) but still felt like something that would come back to haunt him.
Could well be playing them again next year 🫣

Wednesdays season actually ended after that game though, they were dreaming of playoffs before the game, we are disappointed to be in them.

Ah give it a rest man.

The bloke also got us 85 points with a squad he cobbled together on a shoestring in the Summer.

He's made some mistakes but he should have a bit of credit in the bank with the fans.

He's hurting, it showed today (in an ugly way) but hopefully there's a bit of fight left in the dog and we can break the play-offs hoodoo.

We know where we stand now, the automatic promotion dream is dead, but our season isn't.
And to say otherwise is moronic.

The squad was not cobbled together on a shoestring. We were able to offer very serious wages and signing on fees in the summer. We also lashed out big money by Championship standards in transfer & loan fees and wages in January.

Money we brought in through player sales.

Can we just put this shoestring nonsense to bed?

He bought:

Moore - £1.5 million
Cooper - £2.5 million
Burrows -£ 3.5 million
O'Hare - at the time it was said we offered him a lot to come here.
Souttar - Loan fee and wages
Gilchrist - Loan fee and wages
JRS - Loan fee and wages
Campbell
Shackleton
McCallum - All 3 from Championship teams.

I reckon you're looking close to £15 millions there in transfer, signing on and agents fees.

I suspect there are few teams that spent more than us and at the same time didn't have to sell important first team players (aside form Bogle)

So if a team of 20 was assembled without any transfer fees and someone claimed it was cobbled together on a shoestring, you'd say "we'll hang on, have you considered loan fees, signing on fees and agent fees?"

Relative to what we were competing against, it was a shoestring, even before taking into account what we sold and the players that left for free.

Debatable? Maybe, but it's clearly not nonsense.

Let's not forget that due to Wilder's lack of self discipline and control over his players, including his "Superman Captain Robo's" lack of leadership on the pitch, has cost the club, I believe £265,000 in fines so far this season. So should the FA take action over yesterday's fracas we could be heading towards the half a million mark and who's to say due to our continuous discipline problems that another points deduction may be on the cards. Also Wilder may benefit from a touch line ban so he can get his bags packed for the end of the season. In 63 years as Blade I have never seen such poor control of players and sanctions on the club. Will Wilder be contributing to the final fines tally. I doubt it "cos it's not my fault guv"? What a superb role model for all the young Blades out there including my 10 year old granddaughter who like many others has realised what a "Richard Cranium" he is.

Never felt so sick since the council painted our front door blue

How did you feel after Wilders first Championship season when we finished 10th ?

Strange, that we now view anything other than winning the league as not good enough.

After his first championship season the vast majority of fans still backed him and helped push us to promotion in the following season.
It appears now that a 'significant minority' of fans are more interested in trying to oust him.
The level of discontent voiced at matches and on the internet are hardly adding to the battle.

I would not be surprised if players like Gilchrist & O'Hare & now Campbell/Brewster were pi55ed off. All dropped to make way for Wilder's January signings. Why Clarke (3rd choice for me), Cannon yesterday?? Really?? Choudry the most negative player ever (a poor man's Butch Wilkons) has now been on the pitch for the last 20 mins in the last 2 games when we are chasing the game. Yesterday Wilder brought off Peck because he'd just brought 'the crabs on. Poor poor subs every time.

Wilder's subs are often plain stupid

I get the cold piss shivers down my spine at the thought of Chris Wilder mismanaging games against proper opponents in the Prem if we snuck up via the play offs.

It’s a long shoestring…

our only chance in the play offs (and i cant believe im saying this) is go back to the 352 formation stick holding in between anel and robinson seriki/burrows wing backs peck souza hamer midfield 3 and campbell and brewster up top

In that first Championship season we had a recognised style, we played without fear, we committed more bodies forward than back and we outplayed just about everyone we played. It was only the loss of Paul Coutts that derailed our season and promotion hopes. We were great to watch, win, lose or draw. Unlike now where we are the polar opposite of all of the above and piss poor and boring to watch.

Good football gives the fans something to cheer and this then motivates the players and they feed off each other. Watching endless back passes, sideways passes, a slow laborious build up in attack, lumps up field to no one does not get the crowd fired up.

We pay to watch them. They don't pay us to watch them. It's the players job on the pitch to give us something to cheer about and a reason to get behind them and not vice versa.

The season hasn't technically ended of course, but going up automatically is now wildly unlikely and promotion through the play-offs for this club is functionally impossible, so it may as well be.

The season is far from over we ought to be firm favourites to win the play off's, only a week ago we were neck and neck with the top two the only other team anywhere close is Sunderland. What we have to admit is the last three games and Wilder running his gob off has damaged us, performances have not been great all season but yesterday we looked a complete shambles. I don't have a lot of confidence that Wilder can get us back on track for the play off's, Bristol and Coventry play a style of football easier on the eye than our sideways and backwards slow build up without ever getting a cross in. I worry we wouldn't get past either of these two over two legs never mind Sunderland. The only positive is Sunderland seem to be in a huge slump like ourselves, who has the most momentum Bristol or FL's Coventry??? 3rd place don't seem to get promoted too often.

I can't see this happening unless Gilchrist is released from Wilder's cellar. We only have 3 senior CBs on our books and imagine going into a game and Holding gets injured after 5 minutes.
