It is all I will be thinking about, day until night. I really really hope we play Charlton to be honest, but they're so poor, I just can't see anything other than a Wednesday win. Anyone else bricking it already?

(ever the optimist, eh)

Why?

We just beat 2 premier league teams who are both better than them and then beat Forest today who are also better than them.

It will be hard but they are beatable

Yes, but you must know by now what our club is all about. We always surprise.

We expected nothing short of a hammering against Villa and Fulham. We won both.

We hoped for a result today, but expected defeat. We won.

We expected a result in our big games vs Crewe, Notts County etc. We lost.

We go into the Wednesday game with hope and expectation. Guess what.....

form guide, only team weve both played is Forest

forest took lead in first half both games , only difference is we scored 3

I'm more interested in Wednesday night. Can forget about the cup for a bit. What happens if they draw the week after next. How long must there be before the replay? Can it be fitted in before the next round is due to be played?

Let's hope there's no replay then, or presumably we'll be playing the next round midweek?

I am sure the Wendy v Charlton game is on the 25th of Feb and if there is a replay it will be played on Tues/Wed 4th/5th March

But then there won't be time to sell tickets will there?
I think we should sell our tickets as soon as the dates are agreed with ITV and BT Sports, hopefully selling out our three sides of BDTBL before Feb 25th. If Wendy fans take the risk of buying tickets from South Stand, Kop or JSS before their tie against Charlton it will be funny if Charlton knock them out after all!

Can't buy tickets for the FA Cup until the opponents have been confirmed from what I am aware. You then have to liaise with the opponents as to how much you want to charge fans and whether they agree to it.

£10 adults, £5 Kids derby game anyone?

Not a chance

Is that so? I'm certain I've had tickets before that have said 'v Team X or Team Y'.

It's lovely to read such interest and, dare I say it, optimism, about this cup run.

We've deserved what we've got, we've beaten three teams who were, on paper, supposedly better than us. Tactically we were sound as a pound, our attacking threat was immense, and for me this was as important as anything, defensively we looked very solid. Of course there have been blips, we're no different to football supporters everywhere, we pick at errors. We dissect and sometimes criticise deservedly, but at times needlessly (I know that won't go down well with some on here), but let's be right about this, what young Mr Clough has done for us is give us back a little pride. I know what's coming my way - the league, the league, will be what I'll be reminded of, but I'm in complete agreement chaps.

Of course the league is THE fundamental issue for SUFC to concentrate on. The pragmatic part of me says bollocks to the cup if it means survival in this poxy division. But the benefits I do see of this cup run is that we've shown that in raising our standard for the cup games that it's no fluke. A one-off cup win I could rationalise as united being up for a particular occasion, but we've done this on three separate occasions now - Villa, Fulham, and Forest - and there are factors that have coincided with this. The arrival of new players whose attacking potential has lifted the other players. Before anyone says anything, I know they weren't here for the Villa match, but what they've done is enhance our chances of staying in the cup, and most importantly, this division. The players ought to recognise what they're capable of. We've looked a well oiled unit. We've shown determination in abundance, and the icing on the cake has been that attacking threat. Imagine what we could do if we had those forwards who would compliment what we're capable of?

I love this cup run. How can anyone suggest that the scenes we witnessed yesterday, mindless episodes apart, don't make you feel that life is worth living? It was the flipside of that typical supporter's coin. We've had plenty of despair, I've followed united for over 40 years, and the heartache attached to this part of my life has been immense. But yesterday.....well what can I say other than we were MAGNIFICENT. We fought toe to toe, gave as good, if not better, than we got, and we bettered a supposedly ambitious side who are rightly fighting for a place in the Premiership.

If Nigel can keep us up, we've a lot to look forward to. Yes, if this cup run continues we'll all celebrate, but we know what matters, the league. But you can just hear the likes of Clough, Garner, and Morgan, reminding the players of this fact. They'll tell the guys that one simple truth over and over. The cup will be secondary all the while we're in a place that threatens our Division 1 survival. But when that next cup game comes around we'll all be talking about it as we have every other cup game this season. It'll raise everyone's spirits, and by then I have my finger's crossed that we'll have collected those vital league points and we'll be looking down on those clubs below us. COYRAWW!

Praying, praying Charlton win.
I don't get that one Charlton or The Filth! No brainier

Lets get it on and make it our final the honeymoon period under Gray will be over and they will be there for the taking.

Sorry, I'm falling on the side of not wanting to play the pigs either.

Firstly, I remember the other time we played them and how hellish that was. Secondly, I will be a wreck up until the final whistle.

Pessimism is already kicking in and I just don't think we'd do them.

Correct. The prices need to be set and agreed by both teams. Can't see it being under £25 for an adult if we get Wednesday

I don't think there's any corse to be worried whoever we get in the next round we've shown we are capable of beating anyone, if we get wendy I say bring it on ! been in the higher division and been such a massive club :'D the pressure will be on them not us, see you all at Wembley UTB !

Come on Houso, I get the anxiety, but a time's got to come when we rip into the fuckers and watch 'em weep.

Of course there's a chance we'll suffer, but there's also a chance we'll give 'em a lesson. Our little man Scoogs will orchestrate a plan of action and we'll get stuck in, no fear, just the desire, and skill, we've shown we have in abundance. UTB FTP

Are people really concerned about possibly meeting "The Massive" in the next round? Blades have played a full 3.5 hours against PL opposition this season, and have been trailing for exactly zero seconds in that time. We also edged out against a form Championship side who should have slaughtered us yesterday. Wendy have had an atrocious season, perhaps even worse than our own. We have already played, matched and beaten 3 sides in the last 8 weeks of a much better quality than them. An FA Cup 1/4 final at home to The Enemy is nothing to be afraid of. We will surely be favourites to win that match.

Charlton for me any day of the week except the day after Tuesday. Why would any one want to play them dirty fcukers?
I would rather never play them again thanks

What's the point in a rivalry if we never play them? It's what it's all about . I want us to absolutely smash them every single time. It's so horrible to watch but I love it. You can't beat a derby day.

Like it stannyblade ha ha! Yes, if only we lived in different universes, but there's an inevitability about us and the pigs meeting again. With the quality of recruitment Clough has managed to bring into this club - the best I can recall for a few decades - I think we're getting stronger and stronger.

But any concerns about playing the pigs is only based on fear, so come on pal, we're better than that, and after that display yesterday we should be looking forward. We appear to finally have a half-decent team at last UTB

Flippin eck WhiteHawk s going to have some catching up to do.

As others have said, we've already beaten Villa, Fulham and Forest - all far better than Wendy.

My main worry is that one of their renowned thugs - Liera or that little cunt 'JJ' - will set out to cripple our undoubtedly more skilful players such as Scougs or Murphy. It's the Wednesday Way.

Pigs please - it's no brainer - it's a no lose situation
We are third division, they are second so they are expected to beat us
If we win, however, it will be piss take rights forever :)
Guaranteed to be shown on TV live
We are the lowest ranked team left in the competition - serious embarrassment points for whoever loses to us.
They are still struggling to find the net (apart from the worst L**ds display in a generation)
It's actually the best situation to be paired with them, ever.

. with grafikhaus about the threat of injury to one of our better players like Scougs though.

Playing Wednesday a no-lose situation? Nothing could be further from the truth. Do you think it will hurt one iota less if they beat us and go to Wembley just because they're in a higher league than us?

As said above, if we ever play Wednesday again it'll be too soon.
