As always, if you watch the SUFC ones on the club website, you'll need to log in. I'll add the Plymouth presser and SUFC YouTube clips as and when the clubs post them, but if you find something before me, please add it to the thread.

Wilder is live at 9am on Friday.
Link below will work once announced by the club👇

I will post some notes once I've seen it

Will it be from Plymouth or BL?

Wouldn’t think they’d travel day before for that distance.. unless they fly to Newquay

I was told "9am presser, traveling in afternoon"

I'm not across Wilder's preferences with training and analysis session times and travel. Hecky was always the same but Wilder I know has rearranged a few things sometimes with late notice

Near 5 hour train journey afternoon before not ideal prep!!

I don’t know if there’s an obligation to do pressers every week, but if given the option, he’d be better off scrapping it this week and just let the talking be done on the pitch.

The optics would be terrible if we then didn't win.

He needs to front up, admit to some mistakes, acknowledge the poor performances, say we're still in the fight and rally the fans / players behind him.

Time to stick your chest out and pull up your big boy pants.
If we are to fall short, let's go out on our shields and then throw everything we have at the play-offs.

"It's far from fucking over (bangs table with both fists)
NOW GET OUT OF MY FUCKING SIGHT (throws chair at James Shields).
COME ONNNNNNN

I think he should slag the fans off even more. Let's go out in a blaze of controversy and hatred. Say this forum is full of thickos and that all the podcast and YouTube channels need shutting down. Offer YorkBlade out for a fight behind Argos
Started the view from S24SU early Roy? 🤣 ;)

Whoever the Plymouth manager is is absolutely fantastic and I know our disgraceful punters will be delighted if we can escape with a point

He’s done an unbelievable job - earned as many points as the love in Leeds and Burnley and has us qualified for the playoffs weeks before the end of the season - whilst the mighty Frank Lampards Coventry City , brilliant Bristol City , wonderful West Brom and Carricks cavalier Middlesbrough ,are still scraping around trying to achieve what Wilder did weeks ago . Not to mention the deluded Sausage Rohl crew who can only dream of getting top 6 and , oh , by the way - Wilder has beaten TWICE this season whilst many of our supporters were watching the derby games from behind the sofa or darent turn on the phones / radios until the games had finished because - well - they were too nervous 😬

He started the season off with a depleted squad (thanks again Princey) and quickly galvanised us into a winning team following our pound for pound worst season ever . He guided and navigated us through the months of Oct / Nov / Dec / Jan when we had season ending injuries to two of our best and important players and the squad was so depleted that we had a subs bench full of kids . Yet we still ended top before the last two games .

He has made mistakes for sure but FFS - come on - he deserves whatever slack he needs cutting , but no , let’s pile on .

He’s right

Some of our fans are entitled PlayStationers .

….And I’m not even a staunch fan of him

No discussion on player fitness/injuries/availability

Some notes from Wilder's presser:

Injuries & Absences:
  • Nothing asked

Looking back on the Millwall game and the promotion race:
  • "Can't get away from the fact we've not had 2 good games. Looking back on the performance on Tuesday, we were OK. We got the reaction [from Saturday's loss], just didn't get the result we were after"
  • "We did enough to win"
  • "We're in the game for results though"
  • "[Looking forward though we'll not take a] wrecking ball to it. We're still in the fight. We've made it a lot more difficult for ourselves, but other teams were in better positions before and they gave up them positions"
  • "We need to focus on the next game, which we will do, but it's difficult at this time of the season [to not look at Burnley and Leeds] because the hype and the noise that surrounds this part of the season means it's difficult to just focus on yourselves, but the players just have to deal with it and focus on the next game"
  • "The points tally for all three clubs is incredible and have done a lot right. "
  • "We have to own the last 2 results, but we'll also own the previous 26 wins and 85 points"
  • Regarding team selection and criticism, "I've had to deal with it for 1000 games. Have you picked the right team, have you used the right tactics, substitutions? You just deal with it. I've wrestled with it for 25 years and I'll wrestle with it again [to decide who to pick for Plymouth]
  • "I thought it was right that the players had the chance to go again."
  • "We felt we'd picked the right team. Is there a need to freshen it up? Most probably, on the weekend. It was always [likely] that we'd freshen up the team from the Tuesday to Saturday"
  • Do the experienced lads come to the fore at times like this "Yeah, even if they're not playing. They've had a players meeting already. They're just as important as the staff [for the leadership required]"
  • "We didn't find that coldness, that big moment, but the attitude was fine. I'm not protecting the players. Their attitude has been spot on right the way through. It was always going to be a difficult season, but I'm proud of the players. To be really amongst it with 5 games to go is a fantastic achievement. We're not satisfied with the last two games and we want to put it right on Saturday."
  • The shirt isn't heavy. it's heavy when players go missing. It was heavy last season and in 2016, [but it's not now]
  • "There was never anybody that ducked it or didn't want the ball"
  • "Getting the first goal is always huge. It's been disappointing the last two games that we've allowed them to sit in and counter, so it's important we go get the first goal"
  • "We need to be better defensively not to conceded those poor goals"
  • "Find that killer instinct, that coldness, that calmness, those big moments"
  • Throwing back any comments about pressure being a negative "Pressure is a privilege and it's the players faults. They got 85 points, so they're up towards the top. If they didn't we' d be mid table and no pressure. It's their fault", all said with a joking tone
  • Can pressure of being the hunted more than the hunter change pressure or mentality? "Frustration late on in a game you could say that's a touch of pressure. But we're not crumbling"

Looking ahead to Plymouth Argyle:
  • Big game for Cooper tomorrow, returning to his childhood club, but Wilder doesn't expect it to impact him. "He's been outstanding all season. The ovation he got from the Plymouth fans [at BDTBL] was testament to him"
  • "They're bottom of the league for a reason, but they're dangerous, as seen last week v Norwich"
  • "I listened to a bit of nonsense from their manager about pressure now being on Sheff United. Pressure is always on Sheffield United"
  • "We're not crumbling because of a pressure situation. We were off the pace v Oxford and we didn't [take the moments] v Millwall. If we play like we did v Millwall we will win."
  • "There's more pressure trying to stay in the division"
  • "Cards on the table, we've got to go and win a game of football on Saturday. We've had a disappointment that last two games, we've got to come roaring back and get a result"

General:
  • Can pressure of being the hunted more than the hunter change pressure or mentality? "Frustration late on in a game you could say that's a touch of pressure. But we're not crumbling"
  • Tyrese Campbell is Player of The Month, and you are Manager of the Month for March "Yeah, not gonna win it for April are we". "Delighted for Ty. He's had hurdles to get over physically. He's been troubled by injuries over a few seasons. The combination of his attitude and how we deal with players here has been great and he will be important for the rest of the season and beyond. My award is a team award. It's a club award. Always has been"
  • Ryan Oné linked with Ipswich according to Fabrizio Romano "[He's] under contract for the next 20 years (jokingly). I want to build a team round all our best players Ryan's future is here. There's no sign of anybody who's here not wanting to be here"
  • In his first stint, Chris sorted out the contract situations with players so that it was under control, [not all expiring at the same time and loads of lads running them down]. This time, "there has to be a plan. Not being too critical [of the previous regime], but that group all came to a sudden end. There'll be a plan to protect the football club. [The only issue] is if a player wants to leave [and could run a contract down]"

Interviewers: I think the first journo was Tim Thornton from Sky Sports? Then Andy Giddings, Danny Hall, James Shield

By the way, Chris introduced the word, 'crumbling'. Hope that doesn't backfire as none of the journos threw any words like that his way. A golden rule is to never introduce an unwanted headline or word. Let's see how many times the journo's now use the word 'Crumbling' in their headlines on Twitter today. My bet is all of them do

"Talking on the pitch" You might be onto a novel tactic there het👍

Some notes from Wilder's presser:

Looking back on the Millwall game and the promotion race:

  • "We did enough to win"
This really riles me...

No, no we didn't.

If we'd done enough to win, we'd have won, it's that simple.

It's like when people go on about possession stats, Xgs, and all that - until the football authorities start awarding points for other things, the only thing that matters, at the final whistle, is how many times the ball's gone in the two nets at either end of the pitch.

Millwall put the ball in our net once, while we failed to put the ball in theirs at all, therefore they 'did enough to win' and got the three points, whilst we 'did enough to lose' and got nothing. That's how the game works.

Try holding your hand up for once and saying your playing players out of position. And stop blaming the fans who spent maybe a few hundred quid going to oxford to support the team and was righty disappointed with the effort .Then the next game blaming the ref grow some balls wilder

youll see it will be a rout ,so im going for a huge away win to proove the doubters wrong ,,,,,,,,,hammer them from the off sufc great positive lads,,,,,,,,,,,,we wil WIN,,,,,,you can WIN LAST 5 GAMES BLADES ok do it..,,,,,,,,,,,,plymouth 0 blades 5.....and yep i believe in him new lad tom cannon will score ............utb............chow..
