Their match today is postponed. They do not have a match this midweek. They now have to play 21 games in 11 weeks. Will we see them struggle to keep up their league position when they have injuries, suspension etc in the last few weeks?

You're probably right that this will affect them, but it comes to something when we need to worry about this to help us survive in the 3rd div

2 games every week between now and the end of the season. What if they get any more postponed? They won't be able to fit them all in?

Didn't Oldham once do this back in the 90s? Did they have two cup runs and bunch of postponements? They were near the top of the Championship (or whatever it was called back then) and had to play 6 games in 2 weeks or something. Needless to say they didn't win many of them.

Didnt we play Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday not so long back? May be the triple assault season that I am thinking of but Im sure we did

At the end of 1997-8 we played Saturday-Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday to fit in all of our games in hand after our cup run.

It did not go well - we lost 4-2 to West Brom at home on the Saturday, drew 3-3 at Tranmere on the Tuesday (coming back from 3-1 down) lost 2-1 at Crewe on the Thursday (Stuart missing a penalty), and then lost 1-0 at Stockport on the Sunday, but made the playoffs anyway after Birmingham drew 0-0 with Charlton and failed to pass us.

Pretty much the only example I can think of where results on the last day have actually gone in our favour and "saved" us, despite us failing to do what we needed to.

Crawley's game postponed again today.

They are already running out of midweeks...

The only midweek they have free is now the last week of the season.

After that they are going to have to look at the week before Easter (when they play on Good Friday) or the week after (when they play on Easter Monday)

We can only hope the weather improves before we are due to go there on the 25th March ...

Another option may be to play at Brighton?

7 games in hand over Bristol & Notts County now (the only teams in the division that have played 32). 21 games to play in 10 weeks.

Looking at the games played column is the kind of thing I'd expect to see in junior football.

2 teams have played 32 games
8 teams have played 31 games
9 teams have played 30 games
1 team has played 29 games
3 teams have played 28 games
1 team has played 25 games

I remember that run of games. In fact I was at the lane for the West Brom game and also went to Crewe. If I'm not mistaken a striker called Steve Anthrobus scored two towering headers for Crewe before Ian Hamilton pulled a late goal back.

What an awful performance that was.

wow didn't know they had that many games left, if they have to fit every game in before the end of the season they are in some trouble, there calendar is soon going to look like a basketball one with them playing a match every other day :p

Aww bless, professional footballers may have to play 2 games in a week for a while, how will they manage

Poor little sweethearts, I hope they wrap up nice and warm in the meantime, I'd hate for the delicate little souls to catch a chill between matches :tumbleweed:

Tues 15th April should be ok too

But far from ideal given they, and their opponents, have to play on Good Friday...

Of course they are at home on this Tuesday as well. If the pitch at Crawley is that bad....

Didn't we once play on a Saturday and Sunday near the end of the season? Was it when Bradford had their floodlights blown down?

Sat-Tue Fri is the same for us this week (3 games in 6 days) Sun-Wed-Sat

At least Jose should be fully fit by playing two games a week, he covered some ground yesterday and played very well but still looks not quite there fitness wise.
