Pigs haven't scored in a Sheffield derby since bouncing day!

Wasn't sure about the lineup when I saw it, and it wasn't the best game.

But just like it did in November, in the end it came down to who took their chances, and Brewster took his.

Cooper MOTM, Choudhury much better in the second half, Peck and Seriki a few iffy moments but both stepped up to the occasion.

We've only scored twice though.

Thing is the 3 matches post bouncing day we mostly battered them for 270 minutes. And didn't score. Always felt though in those games one goal would probably have led to floodgates.

The two games this season have been tight affairs. One at the lane was so few in chances. Today if we are honest they probably did have one or two more chances. First half I did think we were the better team after 10 mins.
2nd half felt like they were in the ascendency then we scored. We then looked the better for 10 mins then they started to throw more at us.

This team though. They just seem to find a way to win. Let's hope that continues till the season ends!

In 2008/09, Kevin Blackwell managed us and Brian Laws for them. The same season we lost the Play Off final to Burnley.

It was their first league double over us for about 95 or so years!

Yet since 1992 we've done 3 doubles, how many years do you need to go back to find 3 doubles for them?

If we'd not scored against them for 5 games I'd be feeling very angry and inferior...

I don't think any of us realised how big that goal was at the time. Completely changed the fortunes of both clubs

And that's the thing. The fortunes of clubs seem to turn on incidents like this.
Up until that point, they considered themselves (and were considered by others) to be promotion contenders. Remember all the comments about us never being able to cope with the Championship. It had moved to such a higher level than when we were last there.😂
Well, since that defeat they have never achieved a league position as high as they did in the season preceding it.
After getting it back to 2-2 we all feared the worst and if they had done what was expected and gone on to win the game, who knows, that may well have ignited their season and led to further success.
Thankfully (from our perspective) that didn't happen.
Mark Duffy. No words can adequately express my gratitude to you for that goal.

They thought they had Hillsborough 2016/17 sewn up before a ball was kicked.

They've been shell shocked and cagey, ever since. They've played to avoid losing, every single time. For all of Rohl's supposed tactical nous, he didn't go after the game at all, yesterday.

What are the other stats being banded about?
First derby double since 2006ish?
First derby double without conceding since..?

Remember thinking how long it seemed between that result in 1979 and the next time we beat them, and it was 12 years until Whitehouse and Deane scored in that 2-0 win at the Lane in October 1991.
In that time we only actually played them once, which was the 1-1 return fixture at the Lane in April 1980.

To put that in perspective, they haven't beaten us now for 13 years since a 1-0 win in 2012. In that time we've played them 6 times.
