Give Collins the armband, put scougall, coady and mcginn into Doyles pathetic boots to be given the chance to grasp the position.they all have the right to challenge it.

Spot on! Collin' stupidity today was petulant, unprofessional and unforgivable especially as he is supposed to be our captain. It may just also be the end of his reign at BDTBL. Our manager (and the supporters) will have the chance to see how well we do without him.

Or the club should dock his wages for the week, and do the same.

Wouldn't that show the club cares Linz? Instead of Jim asking the fans for ticket price ideas for today's game, why not do something truly in line with the club recognising the sacrifice the supporter's make and subsidise the coach allocation for the replay.

If I knew that there was a free coach service for this game I'd definitely go to the match at t'Cottage. Hope someone at t'Lane is sufficiently imaginative enough to see this and say, "Yeah, let's do it" UTB

As an acknowledgement that he behaved like a novice, Doyle should do the honourable thing and pay for as many coaches are needed for supporter's to travel down to Craven Cottage for the replay.

Are you reading this fool?
I pity the fool.
Sucka!

I've had a dog's abuse on here before for suggesting Doyle is a poor captain and what does he do today? React very nastily to a challenge, put his undeserving teammates in the shit and get himself banned for a couple of vital league games, all in a split second.

If he ever plays again for us it's too soon.

You aren't allowed to criticise players. He's never been a captain, it's debateable he's ever been a player, How the hell all the new managers keep sticking with him is beyond me. I know we don't exactly have many captain-like players, Collins and Maguire are probably the only options, but we now have enough midfielders to play without him. He's one of the last of the deadwood we need to get rid of, presuming McMahon doesn't come back. He doesn't fit with what we are trying to do. Sooner he goes, the better.

If most fans knew there was a free bus they would all go. 120 coaches! on Doyle s wages?

It'd keep the riff raff off the trains I suppose ;)

I remember the last free coach I went on. Leyton Orient away which got called off at 2pm. Thanks to the idiots wandering off into central London, we got back later than if we'd have played the match. Never again.

Think you mean Doyle mate, unless Doyle's middle name is Collin'.....but agree with your sentiment and hope we see a better midfield than we're used to.

It finally gives us a chance to try out a new center midfield pairing with Doyle missing for at least 3 games. Now is the time for others to show they are worth their place.

My mistake, I was still thinking through who was my motm. For the record, it wasn't our captain :-)

Sorry fella, made myself look pedantic. Wasn't at the game today, but seems the team were on song collectively. The new boys played well by all accounts, and everyone seems upbeat. Now what we have to do is remember the lessons of what happened after the Villa game. If we can get some consistency into our game we stand a chance of staying up. There's an upside to Doyle's sending off, we now have the opportunity to see a newer midfield that has more urgency than the one that Doyle 'masterminded'. Think this could be a blessing in disguise UTB

So Doyle isn't very good and he did something stupid today, get over it, shit happens. He should, and probably will, get a hefty fine from the club. He'll miss a few games, and if Cloughie is half the bloke I think he is, be replaced by someone better but fuck me, the hysteria surrounding his sending off is way over the top.

We all know he's a terrible player but let's just see how this plays out and hope that it's to our long term benefit.

Captain failure is a complete prat. End of.

Get him out ASAP.

Maybe we will see what Coady/McGinn/Stefan can do now?

Now I'm not Doyles biggest fan but his witchhunt is a bi riiculous, both here and Blades mad are totally slating the fella.

He's been wound up and reacted, simple as, he has been given a straight red (for the firt time in his career I understand), likening him to Brandys behaviour (that of a petulant child) earlier in he season couldn't be further from the mark and a situation which deserves a different punishment. Some are even calling for Clough to dish out a similar punishment and calling the manager to account if Doyle (gets away with it).

A couple of points;

1. Please don't call clough's ability as a manager into question, it's simply an embarrassment to the club and those who appointed Clough.

2. Doyle has quite a distinguted career and deserves to be treated as an experienced pro rather than an up and coming nobody with a attitude problem.

Agreed. Got to trust that NC knows best and back his decisions. Certainly don't need to start booing another player ala Porter.

But what gets me is hard tackling and snide players are usually loved by the fans, we've had Patterson (hardly a world beater) how was he any different to Doyle.

It's embarrassing how our own fans, who should be backing he captain, are reacting.

Hard tackling..yes....snide..no thanks...how can you back him today?

I'm not backing him I'm pointing out this witch hunt would have been very different had someone else being the perpetrator.

I find it all a bit embarrassing when our fans react in this way against one of our own players.

Michael Brown, one of the worst.

Patterson - could pass the ball (wasn't snide)
Brown - could do a whole lot more than just pass a ball

Doyle has been complicit in a number of the worst years of Sheffield United. He offers very very little despite being captain and quite often when we need him, he either a) goes missing, or b) does something entirely idiotic.

People reacted today because of what went before. He's done nothing to be rewarded with any leeway and so here we are. It was unnecessary and in all likelihood cost us the win.

Hi Michael
Doyle let his team down today, not a witch hunt a fact.1-0 up against a struggling premiership side and having just lost Maguire he showed a total lack of awareness.Limited ability at best he is no captain.United will benefit from having him out for at least 3 games.Hopefully he has played his last game for the Blades.Give Collins the job!
