Alright it was worse than it had looked and it was pretty stupid without doubt. BT cameras only showed it from the Kop end during the match, thats my excuse. Doyle has less excuse because it was right in front of the ref.
 
I'm assuming Clough hasn't seen it based on his post-match comments. Alan Biggs says that Doyle said he 'didn't kick out' - he clearly rakes the calf with his studs, in plain sight of the ref. Completely inexcusable.

An interesting moment for Clough. He seems to be a fair person that's dealt with players consistently - with opportunities given to those that train the right way etc and impress. For me, it's as bad as the Brandy incident - made worse by the fact he's the captain. Clough was clear after the 4 match suspension that he wouldn't come back into the squad immediately. This requires a similar consistent response in my opinion.

From the umpteen replays there was a prior aerial challenge. Doyle climbed above but got a head in the mouth hence the bleeding. Doyle's arm came down aroun Karagoulis' neck but it didn't look like he was headlocking him.

Doyle apears to have interpreted the head in the mouth as deliberate and then went over to Karagoulis and rakes his calf. Pretty obvious red really. Now what we don;t know is if other fouling was going on prior to that aerial challenge.

What angers me about Doyle is he is on a good whack (money) get some frigging counselling on how to deal with it...doh! And if you can't or wont don't get upset if Nige shows you the door. I understand Doyle's anger, it is in his temperament probably but ffs in footie other players will wind you up. So get it sorted and become a better player.
 
I would transfer list him. Awful moment and twice as embarrassing given the fact he is supposed to be our captain and leader
 
Total Colin. Get him out, now. Not just as captain, get him out the club. Premeditated twattery. He knew he was going to get sent off, but he did it anyway. Total disregard of his team mates efforts to try to win the game. Captain my arse. The guy is a shithouse.
 
I hope he gets the same treatment as Brandy. But i looked at Clough when Doyle was cuntishly walking past him but he looked content with him. Coady should replace him

He deserved the red card. The kick out was uncalled for and infront of the referee.

Can't defend Mr Doyle today.

I've had a dog's abuse on here before for suggesting Doyle is a poor captain and what does he do today? React very nastily to a challenge, put his undeserving teammates in the shit and get himself banned for a couple of vital league games, all in a split second.

If he ever plays again for us it's too soon.
 
Not for the first time have we seen the dirty bleeder kicking ankles and treading on toes off the ball, I wonder if Brandy learnt his antics from captain Doyle's example ? Lets hope Clough gives him the same treatment that Brandy received, he has let the club down today.
 
Not just today, we've got to play our next three without our glorious leader, too.
