Wednesday have kept 2 clean sheets in their last 11 league games.
Burnley have kept 11 clean sheets in their last 11 league games.

Feels a foregone conclusion, especially at Turf Moor.

Hope I'm wrong and our neighbours can do us a solid.

Yes definitely I want the pigs to win. All I want is for us to get promoted. If they can somehow pull something from their arse like that Josh Windass half way line goal in the game tonight then great. If not then it’s not the end of the world at least they won’t get in the play offs, cunts.

Only 2nd time in 60 years have I put pigs to win. Last time was 19 April 2019 against Norwich. They drew that one which was zero use to us they had to win

A win for pigs would make them serious play off contenders and could pip us in the playoffs
I am sure people wanting a pig win can’t remember life when they were in the top division and we weren’t
However a pig win and we beat Burnley to the top 2 by a point would be very satisfying indeed
Draw for me Both drop 2 points we beat Leeds win win

A goal less draw please. It keeps the pressure on boring Parker and further dents that lot's play off push. Plus if they somehow manage to breach Burnley's defence, never mind beat them, we will never hear the end of Rohl's "tactical genius". Just fuck off.

They are not good enough or consistent enough to be realistic play off contenders.

They are no where near as good as any of the current top 4 so none of them should be particularly worried about dispatching them over two legs in the play offs should they get there.

They have barely taken any points of teams above them all season

IF they made the play offs and then managed to get promoted with a crumbling ground, awful faculties, an owner who is clearly skint and a squad they compiled largely in league one then good luck to them. They’d find out just how long and gruelling a season in the top flight is when you are woefully unequipped. They’d be worse than us last season.

Our priority has to be going up automatically and to do that we need Burnley and Sunderland to drop as many points as possible and us to gain as many as possible.

Wednesday win, I don’t see why we would be worried about a team picking up points when they are currently 25 points behind us.

Pigs have been decent on the road. Their troubles have been at the sty. Fancy them to get a result. Think they’ll end Burnley clean sheet run.

Considering a United and pigs double this weekend at almost 20/1.

I know this is confirmation bias, but when was the last time Wednesday "did us a favour" by taking points off a team that we wanted them to beat/draw with? I have a pervading feeling of them constantly rolling over whenever they're in that situation (admittedly tonight they're outsiders anyway).
You are right, they never do us a favour. They have also extended that personally to my occasional betting slips, winning when I have them to lose, losing when I have them as a nailed on win. This last one is a a little magic trick I have, whatever higher power there is hates me winning money more than it wants Wednesday to win games, so I know that betting on them to win is a sure fire way of making it not happen.

I want an emphatic win fir Burnley, two sending off for each club, couple of injuries for each club sidelining them for 8 weeks, I'll be in the pub watching and when Burnley score ill shout out, I presume those that want the pigs to win would cheer if they scored?

I’ve seen a few Wednesday matches…..they really lack any quality but are very well organised.
They are much better away…defending in numbers proving a difficult nut to crack.

Think Burnley will find it tough….should be another 0-0 or 1-0 to Burnley….however surely Burnley are going to concede at some point.

I’ve voted hoping for a Wednesday win because at no point this season have Wednesday ever looked that they could win the play-offs.
Think they’ll have over achieved if they finish in the top half and I’m pretty confident they’ll finish no higher than mid table.

Will feel weird tonight actually Wednesday to win….however if they conceded instinct will kick in and I’ll smile.
A draw would be fine too…..another 0-0 would crown Burnley as the masters of boredom.

Draw with Brownhill and Charles sustaining season ending injuries in a freak challenge

Nobody over there cares about getting some sort of result tonight might help us out. They're just totally focused on achieving play offs. Deluded? maybe.

I am going out to purposely avoid watching this, I cannot face watching a game where the best result for us is Wednesday winning.

(I actually think Burnley will 1 or 2 nil though)

It's win/win for us. Burnley win and Wednesday hop aboard HMS Going Nowhere, Wednesday win and Burnley do.

There's loads of examples but it's debatable how much it actually helped us.

In 2002-03 Leicester finished 2nd and we finished 3rd. Wednesday took four points off Leicester by drawing both fixtures against them.

In 2005-06 they beat Leeds and Preston and drew against Watford. They were the three teams that finished immediately below us in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

In 2018-19 they took points off Leeds with a draw.
