Wilder got it right today.

Fucking whining pricks, we go away from home with a clean sheet and 3 points yet so many people would have managed the team better, fucking embarrassing
Your username is embarrassing you div. Get your head out of Wilders arse and realise we have been incredibly lucky today. Exactly the same as Portsmouth. Two games we should have lost with Wilders inept team selections, but somehow we have gained 6 points. Im as delighted as anyone but with everything a tad some common sense is required. Can’t see us getting top 2 but feel free to quote me. Take the points etc and UTB

It wasn't right first half and we rode our luck.

2nd half changes got us right in the game and we hit the post. Became a game in the balance afterwards and we took the chance with a bit of quality.

For all berating Wilder, he changed it at half time and it paid off. We may have only drew instead of winning but the game was there not us chasing it.

For me that is a good set of moves from the coaching staff.

It's true we haven't been always slick or had games we've dominated from start to finish. But what they have built is a squad who fights to win. And when we do play well the play is generally very good.

I do wonder if the biggest issue has been lack of depth and injuries and now new recruits settling in too.

I wonder if we might see the better performances to come? We will see.

Do one you pig prick

Didn't play well but won again. Our luck will run out with those performances and we'll drop points, so need to improve.

With the players and manager we have and the whole season as context, I'm confident we will.

We were lucky first half today that they didn't take a chance. Although really they only had one clear cut chance. Did hit the bar from a terrific effort though.
Got ourselves in the game 2nd half and this is a side desperate for a win and who were PL last season.
We managed to take a chance when it came but it could easily have been 0-0.

Portsmouth march we were crap. Truly. But that was also recognised from the coaching staff. That match was a very lucky weird win.

There was a match in between those you know? How did we play Vs Middlesbrough? Wasn't sure to be honest but I had heard we were pretty decent? 🤔😉

This season I think
Nah. Been like it for several years and it right gets my goat. I'm of an age where I can say with absolute certainty that, save for several seasons under Bassett, we have enjoyed some of our most successful seasons in my lifetime fro. 2017 to the present. But it's never enough is it? Those same bed wetting ar5ewipes will ignore what's staring them in the face. Today we beat a team that finished ABOVE us last season in the Premier, and kept most of that side together (unlike us). They are bottom - we are top. Let that sink in.

Why wasn’t it right first half? Did someone else pick the team for the first half only for Wilder to rescue the situation?

So it's not common sense to Not play your star midfielder whose hamstring is dodgy against the bottom side in the league? And to rest a couple more midfielders who ran their Bollocks off in the last match ,when you 've got Leeds up next game.
Yes their replacements didn't perform. But the error was put right in the second half and we got the rsult.I
Get some perspective.
I think Wilder, despite occasionally getting it wrong, does know what he's doing.

Happy with 3 points, anyone saying Wilder got it right first half is kidding themselves. He has a habit of fucking around with teams after a good result - Brewster benched next game after scoring, Peck and O'Hare this, and many more times which I won't list but you get the idea.

The fact he had to make changes at half time tells you all you need to know. 1st half today and the game vs Portsmouth we were terrible.

Everyone saying Wilder got it right today, so I assume that these people believe the correct game plan was to weather the storm, against a side bottom of the league, for the first 80 minutes, at which point hope a central defender, will all being well, roll in the winner?

I think Wilder got it horrifically wrong and rode his luck, thanks in the end to the players who watched the majority of the game sat behind him. Luton fans must be struggling to get their breath tonight, after our toothless performance. Wednesday night was a superb, attacking football performance, we absolutely destroyed Middlesbrough and a 3-1 defeat flattered them.

On that basis, surely you start with the same team, with the exception of any injuries, maintain the momentum, build the confidence and play the same front foot style of football and engrain it into the squad. Then, when you’re 2 or 3 up, then you change the players you might want to keep fresh for Leeds, albeit that the game is still a full 9 days away?

As far as I’m concerned, the changes at half time were an acknowledgement from Wilder that he’d made an error of judgement. He complained after the Portsmouth game about the players having an ‘arrogance’, well it’s apparent who they’ve caught it from. We were much more of a threat second half, after the changes, but we should have carried that exact same threat from the kick off. I don’t agree with his constant tinkering with the team shape and personnel. We need to play the same 11 whenever possible for the remainder of the season, without Peck, O’Hare even Davies, we have no threat from midfield and no link to the strikers. Souza and Choudhury are defensive, holding midfielders and both shouldn’t be starting together.

As it is, we now go into the game with Leeds, not buoyed with confidence after another superb up and at ‘em display, after putting 4 or 5 passed Luton, to add to the 3 passed Middlesbrough. No we go into it, not knowing how the fuck, we nicked 3 points off the team bottom of the league and what style we’ll be asked to adopt against our main rivals?
Absolutely bang on 1889.

He put in a weaker team against a weaker club (Portsmouth and Luton). He put his strongest team out against Middlesborough. He'll be doing the same against Dirty Leeds next week. I'd much rather he rest players like this, rather than play the strongest players all the time, and end up with injuries and knackered players putting in poor performances. When/if this weaker team starts to gel properly too, then we will be unbeatable.

Seems to be a big focus on squad rotation to keep players injury free and fresh.

Think when we play once a week less tendency to change things between matches. When we have 3 games in 7 days we seem to do the squad rotation.

I don't think much of the time it's anything more than that.

Whilst we have had injuries this season I think it's to avoid what has happened in previous seasons.

We seem to be the only ones in the top 4 that feel the need to do it though. I could understand it if we were playing L**ds midweek but the lads have a full 9 days to rest now 🤔

As soon as I saw the team sheet with Souza + Choudhary starting I knew we would be piss poor. The amount of times we've brought on half time subs this season tells me that starting line ups have been frequently wrong. Credit where it's due for being reactive and making the changes but Wilder needs to start getting these things right from the start.

Luton bombed aimless balls forward all day, hoof ball at its best and worst. They had dangerous free kicks on the edge of the box and better teams wouldn't have wasted them the way they did. They're bottom of the league for a reason, they're fucking crap. As a top of the league team we should have set up to beat them convincingly, not scratting about, losing headers, not picking men up, losing the second balls, standing off and not taking charge.

Despite the win, and points are what matter, we were poor. Once again we're playing against a team with no confidence and we sit back, let them play their game and end up lucky to win it. Brereton Diaz is poor, his ball control is appalling. Vini and Choudhary are good players but it has to be one or the other. Campbell is a bit lazy, Rak Sakyi may as well have stayed on the bus and Brewster, despite being the only one trying to pass the ball was deemed to be the weak link so got subbed. Once again, Peck and O'Hare saved the day. Their energy, closing down and willingness to run won us the game. Wilder had us too negative, too slow and too respectful of a crap team.

He got the result right but pretty much everything else sent the signal yet again that should we get promoted, we'll get fucking battered every week in the higher league.

UTBFTP 👊👊👊
I agree with every word of this

Not a wilder fan then?

Inept selections that got us maximum points…. Can’t see us getting top 2 even though on the pitch we have won 72 points from 33 matches, yeah ok ……..

Or as many on here have often asked, where's plan B.

If he changes it - he get's slated.

If he doesn't change it - he gets slated.

If he assembles an entire squad in two windows and takes us to the top of the league - he gets slated.

Not entertaining enough.

Maybe the Wilder knockers would prefer boring Parker as the boss. Take a look on their board and what the Burnley fans think of their 9 scoreless draws.
Mid June we had about 10 players left after the clearout and Chris has brought in lots of quality and youth to the squad who are only6 or 7 months into playing together and 4 players a couple of weeks in.
The guy has done an amazing job .
