They made 7 changes from their last game. No idea if the system changed too but listening to the interview post match with Rob Holding it seems their changes were a surprise to us ( 7 is a lot!) reacted, changed set up won the game.


Brain fart. Fucking hell.

So he didn't pick the right team in the first place then? Is that what you're saying? The same as the majority of people were.

Agree with most of this. The one area we differ is I think the loan for Hamza was - and is - the right thing to do. We need cover, competition, and a rotation option for Vini. Hamza is great for this. I'm just not sure we need them both on the park at the same time. Maybe useful to see games out, but that's all.

Yep. I've been disappointed with how Chowdhury has played so far, first time I saw him he was playing way, way too deep, almost like a third centre back at times, seems a shadow of how he was when I watched him play regular for Leicester, and I don't think that him and Souza is the greatest combination, but to deny we didn't need CM reinforcements is insane, today I don't think he looked great again, but did have a couple of spots where he regained possession at key moments, so there is that. Give it time
 
On another day we are 2-0 down at half time. Fair play to wilder in making changes but this is several games where the 2 CDMs he picked today aren't working together, and the stats show that Choud is much less effective than Souza.
 
Didn't work against Portsmouth and didn't work today. Without a more creative player in there, there is no link up in the middle and if you can't see this you're either blind or wearing rose tinted specs.

Now isn't the time to be experimenting with new midfield combinations, or persevering with something hoping it comes good, because sooner or later it will cost us.

Souza OR Choudhary alongside Peck or Davies.

I think Choudury dropping deep between the centre halves may be kind of a plan B. If the opposition presses us and have a numerical advantage in the middle of the pitch it's difficult to a) get our midfielders on the ball and b) for them to turn and find a forward pass. So to shake up that pattern, Choudury drops deep to allow the centre halves to get wider and the full backs to push forward, and give different angles as we build attacks.

It won't always work.

Obviously, the midfielders' composure, vision and ability to make space for themselves plays a part. Choudury and Souza isn't a great combination in that sense, and we shouldn't expect too much creativity to come from them.

I think we'd hoped the two of them would be able to take care of the midfield defending, the shielding of the defence more though. They've found that difficult, as they've got a lot of space to cover and have been pulled out wide a lot. Both are better when they can sweep up and stay central. With a front four of Campbell, Brereton, JRS and Brewster they've not got enough help and we have not really been defending as a unit. We didn't concede today, but there was definitely some luck involved in us managing that.

Ah,a Wilder cannot do anything wrong supporter. Obviously with you not being there, you did not see the first half. They changed from a 5 to a 3 after a horrible first half,he gets it wrong sometimes,thankfully they got it right in the second half.

It’s not a moan. It’s a quite legitimate comment upon a manager’s selections and tactics. If we go on a losing run due to his arrogance and stupidity then I hope you’re still clapping like an excited seal being fed fish. Grow up.

We are top of the league right now. I know we changed I was asking if They changed from their last game not just players I got to be honest I have only seen Luton play against us so can only go on Rob Holding saying their line up or formation wasn't what they expected. Wilder changed at half time and we were on top and won.

We are currently on 72 points from 33 games minus 2. That's absolutely fantastic and anyone trying to pretend otherwise looks absolutely foolish let alone the context of a total squad rebuild and how puddle deep the squad was until January.

Wrong again. Wilder said in his interview Peck wasn’t able to play 90 as was fatigued.

We had 2 fit midfielders and they started and they did well.

We were anything but solid in the first half - bottom team Luton had 9 chances against our zero
