Souza Choudhury MF

I was intrigued to see if it could work.
In theory, I liked the idea of those two completely dominating the base of midfield and allowing our front guys the platform to attack.

The issue is, Choudhury sits so deep that he becomes a third centre back and our lads use him as an easy "backwards and square" option.
Souza is miles away from him, so the pair rarely pass to each other and the ball just gets stuck in our own half.

The team needs either Tom Davies or Sydie Peck to play. In hindsight, we should have gone for someone like Tyler Morton.
A more direct replacement for what we lost in Arblaster.

Wilder got this one wrong and he needs to stop persevering with it before it costs us.
Portsmouth, and now Luton (relegation threatened sides), have battered us in open play with this setup and only poor finishing has given us a sniff.

He has clearly gone with the intention of matching their physicality but it’s not worked. Why not play around Luton, they are atrocious. Not today obviously, they are looking like Real Madrid.

Yeah. So far that combination doesn't seem to work. Might be a gamble and but one that paid of today for I'll take that. I'm just hoping he's don't that to rest players for Leeds games. And we turn up like we did at Middlesbrough

I,ll tell you what it is..Portsmouth and Luton should have been beating us at half time but they couldn't finish...try it against Leeds it,ll be game over.
Same shit was said against boro, they were gonna score 5 apparently. Teams are allowed to be deserving of beating us you know, we aren't entitled to just go out and win every game and be better than the opposition in every single game, not sure how long you've watched football but I'm afraid that's not how it works. Leeds are a better team than us anyway so on some of you lots basis of how you expect us to do against teams not as good as us, we may as well just write it off now hadn't we?

We went defensive at Leeds.. look how that turned out...let's have a fuckin go at em.

I think it can work with O'Hare Hamer and BBD/jesrun behind Campbell tbh

Solid base for creative and busy forwards isn't something I am against

Well done after another brain fart from Wilder. Changed it immediately and straight away looked a better side. Good use of subs again. 3 points and top of the pile. A Wednesday bollocks up and a great weekend.

We’ve got away with that today and not for the first time this season.
Is the manager feeling pressure to play his new signings perhaps?
Souza and Choudhry should never play together again, Choudhry should be a back-up option for Souza if injured.
I can’t understand why we are so concerned about playing a bottom of the table side that we go with a defensive midfield that can’t progress the ball up the pitch?
A great 3 points but despite rather than because of the team selection.

Souza-Choudhury can work in midfield together, but you have to put a proper no. 10 in front of them to provide that link between defence and attack.

just why? What is he thinking playing these 2 again after the disgrace vs Pompey. Ridiculous.
Worked well. They launched it into box we didn’t win anything and kept them out of it. Harder to build play with how Luton played.

Second half those 2 were good again.

It seems like you don’t really understand football on a deeper level.
