What is the best possible result do we think?

In my opinion, even though it would be nice to win the Championship and gain more money, if we beat Luton tomorrow and Leeds beat Sunderland then we will be 8 points clear of Sunderland.

Not gonna lie, I would also hate it if Leeds got promoted so part of me wants Sunderland to win.

Perhaps I could let you know in May.

0-0 draw, illegible players on both sides resulting in points deductions, a mass dust up with 17 red cards, a massive pitch invasion from the Leeds fans resulting in Bellend Road being closed for the rest of the season and Farke to finally have a wash...not too much to ask, is it?

the way leeds are playing they look good to get the 3 points but im not so sure i think sunderland might just suprise them and get at least a point which to be honest has to be the best result for us

Personally think we're too inconsistent to finish about Leeds unfortunately. Think with the squad now we can finish 2nd so Leeds win and hope Burnley start to eventually concede the odd goal again.

From a Sunderland perspective we have to win and we most certainly cannot, under any circumstances, let Leeds win - irrespective of how good they are, or how good their home record is.

If Leeds win and you lads win at the weekend we would be 10 points behind Leeds and 8 behind your good selves. No way would we make up 10 points and 8 points. We are asking you to lose 3, Leeds to lose 4 and this from 2 teams that have hardly lost all season.

So if we lose the top 4 becomes the top 3 and we are left to get the points needed to guarantee the play offs from the last 13 games - so that more than anything might focus our players minds.

A draw isn't really much good to us; but might give us a very slim chance of top 2 still - but not by much TBH. All or nothing IMHO.

I think youu've got every chance of getting a result against them they are not real Madrid

the fact we have to win has to focus our players minds. they must know that if they bottle it and lose then top 2 is over for us this season. It's a pretty simple equation that one.

Ideally, we beat Luton, Preston beat Burnley, and either Leeds draw (which would put us second on GD) or Sunderland win which would keep us top if we beat Luton.

That would keep us in the race for the title.

Lets me be that guy.... if we concentrate on our own games and win, it doesn't matter about Monday's match. At the start of the season starting on -2 seems an age away and all the doom and gloom going into August. Whoever does end up, it will be interesting if anyone can break the trend of coming straight back down again without going bust.

Train strike, heavy rain, 0-0, mass brawl, multiple sendings off,

If we win then Sunderland to win or draw please.
If we lose then Leeds then a draw will be perfect.

It seems obvious we want a dirties win.
But, never forget the power of fear of losing a couple on the bounce.
Leeds have considerable form in that regard - just think what 2 losses in a row will do to their fragility born of years of bottling it.
If they do lose both just enjoy the meltdown. One can but hope...

Yeah, a positive spin - I don't think Leeds losing would be a disaster for us. Currently only one team has to overtake us and if Sunderland do then Burnley probably do too and third is the same as fourth come the play-offs. Let's not look behind us though - let's get above Leeds then two teams have to outpoint us.

A Leeds win may be best as things stand, but unlike some others I haven't given up on the title just yet. Being 2 points behind Leeds who will still have to play, and who normally have a wobble, why on earth would we?

So on that basis a draw would be terrific too, but as already said it's all academic if we don't beat Luton.

Preston to beat Burnley
Blades to beat Luton
Leeds to beat Sunderland

That would make us 6pts clear of Burnley & 8pts clear of Sunderland.

Than Blades to beat Leeds the following week to go top…..

Fingers crossed!!
Carlsberg don't do United weekends unfortunately
