Take your flares and fuck off home

Ok, so at least we know you are not bothered about the effects of the smoke on people with breathing difficulties.

What a pleasant human being you are. I would not wish the problems of old age in this area on anyone. However, in your case I`m tempted to make an exception.
Where do you sit?

Not taking sides here but this was the Etihad v Brugge a few weeks ago, these were official club sanctioned smoke bombs set off at pitch level before ko. That entire stand was engulfed in smoke, presumably with zero fucks given for anyone with respiratory problems. I do think pyro can have a place in footy. Unfortunately we lack the 'ultra' culture of the continent where by and large the fans and club collaborate and people know what they're doing20250129_195113.webp20250129_195016.webp20250129_194959.webp

Not really no, it's outside.
Have you seen the crowds in Greece, Italy, Poland, Turkey? We have one, in the wind, outdoors, in one area of the whole stadium.
I'm not telling fans 60plus not to stand at the back of the kop, but if they do, there might be a bit of smoke for 1min after a goal 🤷🏻‍♂️
It's not just the back of the kop though is it, I can smell the smoke and I'm in the middle of the kop.

So in the middle (not even the front) it's just affecting taste buds?
Honestly, if someone throws one I'd immediately ban them for life, but setting one off and holding it, doesn't seem a problem to me.
There's people that would ban standing and signing as well dont forget.

This was taken a couple of weeks ago on the kop of the old man, don’t get me wrong I don’t have a huge problem with the flares but they do get thrown and that’s where I draw the line. Wouldn’t usually post but they do need sorting out not sure how though. luckily got away with only a slight burn and a ruined jacket but if this hit a kid it would be a different story.

The phrase official sanctioned club smoke bombs sums up the "new football" for me. Much preferred British rail bog roll being thrown.

Did he leave at HT then? It's been dark at FT since November.

That old geezer doesn't give a fuck. If someone turned round sudden, he could have their eye out with that stick.

Talking about standing up at football offends half of modern day football fans. Unfortunately there's fuck all chance of incorporating any pyro.

I was on the Kop for the game v Wendy and there was an old boy just wandering up and down the gangway steps, looking shaken and dazed.
I asked him if he was OK, and he told me a flare had hit him and landed by his seat. He and a few others had to vacate their seats while the stewards removed the flare.
Snitches get stiches. Just saying HighfieldBlade

What about more elderly fans who have difficulties breathing when smoke from the flares wafts over the terraces. Do you have any concerns for them ?
My little lad has asthma. Never thought about them until I took him to his first away game. We couldn't be on the concourse due to the smoke. Had to go into the seats. Then he was all anxious and panicky about if he needed to go to the toilet because he was scared of the smoke
