Which says a lot about the depth the of our squad....JLT should never be anything more than back-up.
have to agree robbo is a 100% player for us no doubt about that but if were to get automatic he cant be starting every game proved it when souttar was here and he was on the bench play offs yes

Problem with Robinson is that he can be good enough but you have to put him on blast to perform. He needs a mirror at home so he can tell himself he is a tiger

He’s not good enough for a top 6 team and that’s an absolute fact. Wouldn’t get in any of our rivals squad. It’s pretty poor he’s been here this long. Slow, cumbersome and drops a regular bollock. The difference between him and Souttar is night and day.

He played alot when we made playoffs and lost v forest , he played alot when we were automatically promoted the following year , he's played alot this year and we are currently in an automatic spot .... A great squad member

All in a 3-5-2 formation, which he's very capable in.
In a 4 at the back, he's woeful.... I'd never say that to his face though

If he could cut out the 3/4 clusterfucks that lead to gilt edge chances he gives away every season he’d be an extreamly solid championship CB. Also was the only one of our centre backs that came out of last season with any real credit.

Been an absolute bargain and a definite asset to the club for me.

Rob Holding has played at a level Robbo will never reach. 100+ games for Arsenal is a tough ask as the competition is so high.

Robbo is a good championship defender. We are looking to replace him as he’s one of the weaker links in the squad. But he is more than capable and recently has improved a lot.

Robbo best performances are in a back 3 not a 4 though.

yes agree in a back 5 we could get away with playing robbo but not in a back 4 anel hasnt looked the same player since souttar got injured and he came in but i do think we need 2 centre backs to come in today

Which explains why nobody is coming in for him with 6 months left on his contract.

Nobody below us can get him, nobody around us want him, and nobody above us would even think about it.
As we bought him when we were in the PL and he's spent 2 seasons in the PL, I'm guessing he's one of our biggest earners. Probably crossing his fingers and toes that we go up and he can use that leverage to get another decent contract from a top 6 Championship side....

Be amazed if he's not playing with Hecky at Preston by the start of next season. Might have to bookmark this to say I called it!!!

we got away with Robinson in a back three while winning automatic promotion, finishing in the playoffs and when he was player of the season in the premier league. we must be the luckiest team alive.....

Id give you the benefit of the doubt on the first two, but have to throw the challenge flag on the last one.

What the fuck did we get away with in the PL? The two seasons he's been with us in the PL, rank in the top 10 worst PL campaigns in history. Last season we conceded over 100 goals. That's on a par with saying Ian Huntley was a decent school caretaker....

Better in a back 5 than he is in a back 4.

Like Brewster, I think this will probably be his last season with us.
I hope to God that they're both cut loose at the end of the season. If PA was still at the helm, you'd bet your bottom dollar they'd both get new deals.

The thought of Robinson playing for us against Premier League opposition makes me want to throw up. There's a reason that no matter where he's been, even here, he hasn't been able to hold down a regular place and that's because he's far too prone to dropping a bollock.

He can throw a ball a long way but apart from that, he's poor in possession, not tall enough, not quick enough and lacks awareness. Compare him to Souttar who was better in all of those departments and given the chance, could probably throw the ball from Bramall Lane to Hyde Park flats.

47 voters are out of their fucking minds.

If he carries on starting after this window you may as well have not bothered signing the likes of Cannon and BBD, because we will continue to lose to the better sides in the division

He won't ever play at a higher level than us, but saying that, he'll have a solid few more years as a championship CB, my prediction is he'll be a very good asset for relegation teams, could see him at luton, stoke or derby one day

Said exactly the same at the weekend. £10m on Cannon and no CB reminds me of when we paid £23m on Brewster as 5th choice striker and had a back 3 of Basham, Robinson and Ampadu....

Still, the day is young!

And there was no creativity from midfield to create him chances 🤣

Was about to say something similar! If he went to Derby, Preston, Mittwoch - you could see him playing another 3 or 4 years at this level.

I don't buy the rhetoric that he's good for a backup. He needs a run of games. It's when he's coming in for the odd game here or there that he starts dropping bollocks...

However, as a team looking to finish top 2, he's way short of the mark. Dont see him anywhere near Burnley or Leeds starting XI...
By ‘backup’ I mean sat on the bench!

One Lesson United should learn for the future is NEVER again have any dealings with anything to do with the Scoucers ... I know he wasn’t a direct deal with them, But, anyone we get from one half of that god forsaken place is Shite. Anyone that goes from us to the other half of that shithole is always a gift.

Need someone, in case Anel gets injured.

Robinson is fine against most teams in this league. When a team presses high and fast he’s a bomb scare.

He is good enough for Championship team that are up for mid-table or chance at the Play-offs. He's not what you want if you're looking to get promoted in an automatic place.

Agree he’s a very good Championship level player who makes occasional bad mistakes.
So it depends who the other central defenders are.

Would prefer to have better options but at least we know he can fill in and do a job.

PS: Seen the earlier comment which is probably more accurate.
Robinson is actually a great defender….but only up to slightly above average Champinship level.
Against the best Championship teams and PL teams, he’s out of his depth.

Wonder what the result of this would be now...
