Judging by this quote Wilder doesn't come across as someone who's embracing these new tools. He's "not bothered" by it, but it doesn't seem he sees the benefits either.

I can see a clash between the owners and CW coming at some point.

He’s just signed a contract extension you’d think if the owners want to use their method of identifying players it would have been discussed before offering him a new deal.
Yes you would think so but who knows.

I can't wait to hear Wilders enthusiastic interview when these two sign!

I wonder if he'll even be able to keep a straight face!

'Yeah, one's for the future. It's great to get young prospects through the door, and I'd like to extend my thanks to Steven and the Board for their willingness to try something new. As a club we're looking to embrace technology and this it the beginning for us, testing a new direction. I'm not going to kid anyone on, we've got a competitive squad. It's up the lads to show myself, and the staff, that they've got enough to give me a selection headache on a Saturday lunch time.'

Both inverted left wingers it seems. If they're cheap deals i'm all for it. Cutting inside like that is a transferable skill and sometimes only time will tell how good at it they can become.

Get them cheap instead of when we can't afford them. Move them on if they're making no progress.

If it's a relatively small outlay, and should the worst happen, we sell them on for a profit, meh. Don't really see a down side if I'm honest.

I’ve just done an AI search for a ‘young, fast & skillful winger who will cost my club in the region of £1m’ this was the response

One promising young winger to consider is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. While he has gained attention for his speed and skill, his transfer value might exceed £1 million due to his rising reputation. However, you could also explore players in lower leagues or youth academies, as they often present great potential at a more affordable price. Keep an eye on young talents from countries with developing soccer programs, as they might fit your budget and criteria’

I think a PSG player who played in the champions league the other night might be a tad out of budget 😂

We do need to look abroad, we can't keep forking out over the odds for UK talent like we have been doing on the likes of Cannon and Brewster.

The reason the Brentford's and Brighton's have done well is because they have looked abroad and got some real coups.

or he just doesn't claim or try to be an expert on everything. he doesn't dismiss them. but he still wants to have a lookn& not sign anyone blindly

the guy played for a decent club in peru. part of a team that in 2022 seemingly came 2nd in peruivan PL & made the South American Europa league Semi finals & has scored 8 in 24 in 2024 as he returned & they finished 3rd. are in South American champions league qualifiers

seemingly the Peruvians love him, as i got alot of likes from that clubs fanbase on twitter
