Just got a text from my Swans supporting mate saying that he believes Darling will be joining us for £1M.

Not sure if he got the info from an ITK or just that it's a gut feeling?

Anel at LCB is not the problem, being next to someone less physically imposing and no more of a leader than him is the problem

100%.

I wouldn't mind signing Darling as I think he's probably an above average Championship, at a good age and probably available at a good price. As a minimum, he'd provide proper cover but with potential upside to step-up in time.

It shouldn't prevent us from getting a proper Souttar replacement in though.
In my opinion, Souttar can probably only be replaced through the loan market as we're not going to spend £10m+ on a CB in this window and we're not open to shopping in the overseas market (JjK was a unique case given he's a Scouse abroad).

Completely agree. I'm just not sure who fits the bill. There seems to be a lot of CBs out injured in the PL making a loan challenging. Hoping to be surprised with a rabbit out the hat or widening our sights to the international market.

Both clubs hoping they can get the players to resign .A point will come when they after accept defeat and accept our offer ! which won't be much . I prefer Darling as playing for Russell Martin should mean he is a more rounded player. keeping the ball is Russell's way so Darling is more likely to push on if we go up
Although I wouldn't say no to Dunne ! he is a tough cookie.!

I'm still hoping we go back in for Souttar on a permanent in the summer, should get a decent discount after that injury and player would be more than up for it. It does make getting a short term replacement in a bit more awkward though, especially now the loan slots are all full.
