Just caught the ending of the quiz 'Pointless' on BBC and the couple in the final round had to name 3 FA Cup semi-finalists of the 1990's. They said Arsenal, West Brom and SUFC. Needless to say that not many people had remembered our defeat by the pigs in 92 so they got their 'pointless' answer and won 4 grand - all thanks to The Blades. :)

At least we've put a smile on some bodies face" a bit like a sadistic murderer, with a sense of humour?

sort of.

actually my 'contribution' is fairly pointless so here is a nice photo of Bramall Lane

Cant remember if I have seen an aerial photo of BDTBL without the roof in the Kop along with the gable on the John Street Stand. The Shoreham Street stand was pulled down for safety reasons in 1907 or 1908 and the roof for the Kop was put up in 1935 so it looks like that the photo was either in the 1920s or early 1930s

Actually Racy I think it was my fellow Doncastrian, Douglas. Baader had an advantage in aerial photography because his legs didn't get in the way of the view.

I too thought it was an interesting shot because the Spion Kop was open-plan in those days Silent. You can see its taken during a football match and the ground is very full including the terracing next to the pavillion. To bother sending a plane up in those days I suppose it must have been a big game like a semi-final or an international? Though it looks like its very early in the season because of the worn wickets and the leafs on the trees.....?

Spelt Baader in Sprotbrough (or perhaps not) ANYWAY I've read on t'internet that the 'D' drawn round the penalty spot was only invented in 1937? I'll have another look at the photo. No Sherlock on TV so I might as well!

Flipping 'eck you got me all muddled with Barder, Barber, Barbour whatever it is. There is no mystery or contradiction, I've just gone mental, soz.

And here's the Kop with a roof. 1948

Looks a big crowd so it was probably a FA Cup tie
