I read that tweet as if he were going to sign a new contract at Derby then come to us on loan, but Forest were scuppering the deal!

Not sure why they'd want to send him here on loan tho and not just loan him straight back on loan to Derby instead?

He wouldn't be coming to us on loan from Derby, he's their best player, and were a direct rival next season.

Guess, but are we more likely to be fighting for promotion than Derby?? Obviously not with our current 8 players, but maybe in thier eyes...?
 
Given all that we will start season with more holes in the squad than my socks, I think the one position we wont be prioritising is left centre back.
 

Brighton have had £12/15 million rejected for him this window already and sky sports saying they’re still pushing hard to get it done.

Out of our league.
 
He's going nowhere other than Brighton, and most likely not til the end of the season, barring silly money or a loan-back.

Might not pan out that way, things change. However, it's from a very good source from within Derby

Been a huge fan since watching him play a friendly against Notts County years ago, hence starting the thread!

If we'd moved then, he'd have been fantastic for us...would have been a decent (but by no means exact) replacement for JoC.

Out of our league now with Brighton involved
 
Great player- big lad but he’s confident with the ball at his feet. Have been impressed with him whenever I’ve watched him. Think he’ll be Premier League bound this window.

They don't get every one right

He's a slow clogger, not particularly big, seems a bombscare with the ball when under a press. Will flop, come back to me in a few years
 
He really does remind me of JOC. Obviously not as good, but a bulky left-footed central defender that is comfortable in possession. Shame Brighton are going to end up signing him, as think he’d be great next to Anel.
 
If we want a young Irish CB who isn’t going to cost the earth right now but will after his next move is an Irish youth international and has started nearly every game for his club at a very respectable level of football then Anselmo MacNulty at PEC Zwolle is the answer. I know we don’t sign players from abroad but we have done previously when they’ve had links to people we can talk to and who’s opinion we trust for example Anel. You’d like to think we have contacts within the Irish set up we can talk to to sound out what kind of character the lad is, which Wilder puts a lot of emphasis on.

Bonuses from our point of view he’s left footed and 6ft 2 he’d slot in quite nicely for us.
