Hamza over Pick? I think the latter has earned his place, and Tom Davies too. Given the awesome team spirit and unity so far this season, it's vital not to break it. For me, Hamza is cover for Souza.

I think the words “push forward” are not in the vocabulary of Gilchrist.

Given how we lined up yesterday with 2 more defensively minded midfielders rather than 1 holding midfielder and 1 box to box (which we've been doing all season), I wouldn't be surprised if we did the same for the next 16 games, especially as both Souza and Choudhury seemed fit enough to play 90 mins.

Souza and Choudhury working as a unit to help defend that back line would give both Burrows and Clarke licence and protection to get forward and join the attack at the same time, rather than one going and one staying.

Earlier in the season before our injuries, we'd do something like this.

Souza would help protect the back line and give Burrows licence to go forwards (by effectively replacing him in the defence) while Arblaster could also get forward to join the attack.

By the end of the window a team that sets up 4231 and includes

Defense of - Burrows, Ahmedhozic, Tangana, Clarke,

Midfield of - Souza, Hamza, BBD, Hamer, O’Hare.

Supporting an attacking rotation of - Cannon, Campbell and Moore.

Is very strong if tactically set up right.

The prospect of having a spine with Campbell, Hamer, Souza, Hamza and Tanganga that consists of athletic tenacity, pace, willing and aggression is exciting as fuck.
