[RESOLVED] PA system in westfield corner.

Time after time after time I have emailed the club about the dreadful reception of PA setup in westy corner. Steve Hicks says it will cost 300k to fix the dreadful lack of sound quality, said it is 25 or 30 yrs old the decrepit system in place now. He said it needs budgeting for. So let`s continue with a system where we cannot even hear safety messages shall we? OK, great.

I agree with the OP. IT IS CRAP and a potential safety hazard.
I've never heard an announcment for police and stewards to go to phase 5 whilst in that stand.

One of my brothers is a copper, and although he doesn't do matches now (CID - far too busy catching murderers) he confessed that when the announcement "for all police and stewards to move to phase 5" went out he had no clue what the bloke was on about. Judging by the way the stewards act it means "Stand Up".

Phase 5 is a little more than that, but essentially securing/covering the exits ready to aid people in the event they need to get out, or stop people in the event they need to be kept in.

Source = being a long term football supporter with eyes and I know one of the head stewards at Barnsley.

We spoke about this issue with the club the other evening.

Just to update, the PA and Speaker issue in the Westfield Corner will be rectified in time for the Brentford game. Relevant replacement equipment has been ordered.
