Thoughts?

I think we can win this one.
I would have preferred an away draw because its nice to beat big teams at their ground

I'm happy with that draw. At least we are at home and I don't think either team will fancy coming to Bramall Lane.

As proved yesterday, they are there for the taking.

Very good draw for us, and very do-able! Makes a change!

It's at home, and with the buzz created by the Villa game, we should get an excellent crowd to cheer the team on.

Add to that, the fact that both Norwich and Fulham have more important battles during the 2nd half of the season, then I can only see them putting out weakened teams to face us.

You only have to look at the Forest v Wet Spam game today, to see how a weakened, young and inexperienced team can get rolled over.

Let's make it an intimidating atmosphere at the Lane and make their young-ones feel as nervous as hell, when they come out of the tunnel and hear the noise.

Also gives our players another chance to measure themselves against premiership opposition and see how
far simple confidence in their owm ability can take them.

There's a small chance of being on TV in my view.
Assuming Man U and Liverpool beat Swansea and Oldham respectively, then you'd have to assume those two visiting lower league opposition will both be on TV.
Then I think Stevenage v Everton will be on.
After that there's a few possibles of which us v Norwich or Fulham is one, along with:
Derby or Chelsea v Stoke
Bolton v Cardiff
Wigan (holders) v Palace

Delighted with that draw, home tie against a Premier league side means decent crowd and it's a winnable game too... Happy Happy Happy!!

Bit of a dull one for my liking, of the teams left at the end this was the worst possibility for me.

When Birmingham/Bristol Rovers/Crawley came out and when we were one of 3 teams left, I feared the worst.

Slightly disappointing not to get Liverpool or Man United when we were all still in the hat so near the end but a winnable home tie v Premier League opposition has plenty going for it.

On paper both Fulham & Norwich should beat us.

However if they are both still scrapping for their lives in the Prem then they may not fancy the extra matches.
*Looks over at Lambert pre match comments.

Pretty much my feelings, was relieved when we didn't draw one of those 3, but disappointed they got Man Utd. Also had a terrible fear we were going to get Stevenage so glad that was avoided!

Either way another winnable game against a side that will test us. Reproduce the performance from yesterday and we have every chance.

.

That old chestnut, playing on paper, along with its mates 'should have, if only and we are a massive club'.

The game will be on grass (maybe with some mud) and does lightning strike twice?

I'm slightly disappointed with this tie. Granted it's a PL club but neither are huge names that people get excited about. Yesterday was amazing but all I can see is a defeat in the 4th round.
Picky bugger! Before the game on Saturday, most Blades would have given their right bollock to be in the draw for the 4th round.(Apart from Linz ;))

I think it's an ideal draw - Fulham/Norwich will probably be deeper in relegation shit by the time of the game & could play a weakened team.

As the draw went on, I saw Liverpool and Man. U were still there. I think we could have guessed the outcome.

And Stevenage or Macclesfield? About 1500 tickets, live on telly and most of the country wanting us to 'do a Villa'.

2 Norwich players who had their debuts in the cup on Saturday are players I would have liked us to have looked at on loan this season - the Murphy twins. I saw them in the Youth Cup Final 2nd leg last year at Stamford Bridge and they were fantastic, played out wide in a 4-3-3 and looked dangerous every attack - fast, direct, with good awareness. The rest of the team were fairly ordinary, they were just well organised and let these 2 do their thing playing off a lone striker who held it up. Think one of them set up the Norwich goal on Sat.

Those Murphy lads are class, just signed new contracts with Norwich as well.

I'd rather get Norwich myself for obvious reasons, but I don't mind either way. Play like we did against Villa at the weekend and we give ourselves every chance. Norwich fans do seem resigned to losing their replay though, if you thought we could be a negative bunch, you need to listen to "Canary Call" (BBC Norfolks equivalent to P&G) - priceless Saturday evening entertainment :D

At least our chances of being on the box have now gone up!

In fact, did you know the last time an FA Cup tie involving Manchester United WASN'T on TV, was 8th January 2005, a 3rd round tie at home to Exeter City? How many FA Cup games have they had since then? 40!!! And they haven't even won it since then!

I did hear something like that yeah. Ridiculous

I'd rather get Fulham, think they are a tad more beatable and if we got a replay I could attend much more easily. There were worse draws out there for sure and pleased we are at home.

It's amazing how quickly football fans default to the 'miserable' setting. They were in League One 4 years ago and are now on 3rd consecutive season in top tier. Don't know they were born!
