No idea on his injury rehab timetable, just ‘out for the season’.

I really like the guy and his character. He ticks all the boxes and he is exactly the kind of blade the club needs. He has presence too, which is worth any flaws he might have in EPL pace. Others can do the fancy stuff, but no one plays with such calm presence and reassurance as Souttar. He will bring out the best in others too.
Yep.A modern day Eddie Colqhoun for me.

Id be very surprised if Jags got double figures. Even from midfield. I know he got a few but I think only Webber and Ships double figures.
Although, I dont know what Kabba got either, so I could be wrong.

Top scorers were:
11 - Shipperley
10 - Webber
9 - Ifill & Kabba
8 - Jags
4 - Morgan, A. Quinn & Unsworth

Reading up it sounds like this one is between us and Leicester haggling over whether it's an 'option' or an 'obligation' at the end of the season. Another one I hope we get done though, gives us a couple of decent options at CM and RB.

If we go up, he'll be a good squad player. If we stay down, he would replace Souza if he went. The option would protect us in case of injury but otherwise I wouldn't see a problem with an obligation.

Leicester had a squad full of players good enough for one league and not really good enough for the other. From my extensive research (Wikipedia), he played 20 games in the prem when he was 21-22 (a hot prospect...) but less than 10 games around that with only one season in the championship. It suggests that he's one of those limbo players with little chance of improving.
Based on this, it's crazy the wages that are mentioned for him which we'd have to cover this season and going forward, but where everything is at I guess. I'm indifferent on this one. I'm agreeing and sitting on the fence at the same time.

Good enough for him to be a squad player in the Premier League for us... But not good to be a squad player for Leicester in the Premier League?

Wouldn't we want to be better than Leicester?

Unfortunately, the sum of our premier league quality players (not including prospects) in recent years is:

Ndiaye
JoC
Henderson

We're not going to be bringing in established premier league players whilst we are in this league.

As for wages, suppose our highest earner is on in the region of £30k/w, we won't be paying much over £40/45k/w for BBD or Choudary I wouldn't have thought.

BBD is barely a squad player for Saints at the moment either...

Has anyone factored in there may be suitors coming in this month for Souza?
Sousa remains a puzzle for me. Still skeptical about his form, because last time he was dogshit in the PL? Or am I misremembering? No suitable explanation for the plaudits he’s getting, apart from dropping down a division? No doubt he’s playing well now, but why?

We are at a different place to Leics on our EPL development curve. As this season has showed, we need a strong squad with useful back up players, in the event of suspension and injury. Include rotation if we are good enough to stabilise in the EPL.

Don’t think he wanted to be here. When we got promoted and he got a PL badge on his CV I think he was expecting a big money move. When we dropped and he went with us his capital was low so only thing to do is get us promoted again.

I think he now likes us

Because the standard of opponent in the PL is far greater than that in the Championship. He usually has a physical advantage against Championship midfielders, not so much in the PL.

Massive day tomorrow, with potentially a pivotal day in our pursuit of our top target. Also expecting a few reports confirming a player is travelling for his medical tommorow and another permanent transfer is close to being finalised. Rest easy blades
