I actually think if we’re basing the net worth of the consortium on links and rumours it’s an entirely pointless exercise.

The links I’ve seen seem to reflect a sensible approach that we should be taking. Wilder has mentioned the Leicester lad with the big hair and BBD in his pressers so I’d imagine they’re close. Both would add to what we have already.

All about progressive strengthening of the squad.

And of course, we haven’t signed anyone yet so we can’t even begin to judge
 
Net worth doesn't mean shit. They are probably trusting wilder and the recruitment team

Just spent £ 100 million buying a football club, so richer than me.

Though we have no idea of how it has been financed yet.
 
Wasn't a dig at them just an observation. Quite happy with sensible spending, pushing off field projects and keeping it affordable.

What other championship teams are linked with or have a chance of signing Brereton-Diaz, Choudhury and Omobamidele ?

They're top end championship/lower half PL players.

Who would you prefer us to be linked with?
 
Patience, that is the key this JTW. Stop being impatient and wanting everything now. Good reinforcements are coming and we'll be in the automatic promotion race for the rest of the season. Not a Blades trait, for some anyway, have some faith in the new regime and the recruitment team.

I think in fairness Alex, people would generally be more patient if we’d got a fit / adequately sized squad. I think it’s the bare bones nature behind the impatience to get players in for Norwich.

I agree that could be the squad for the Norwich game. Given our previous track record of players not being named in the squad when press conferences have suggested otherwise, I can understand some people’s nervousness. Not that it justifies anyone in but Wilders ruled that out anyway.

If you have a striker who’s banging in goals every week you ain’t going to sell them/ loan them to us half way through the season. That’s why Cannon is a good deal for someone as he’s scoring goals and Leicester are his parent club who want to sell.

If he was owned by Stoke you’d have no chance of getting him at this stage without paying 20/30% over market value

These new owners had to pay 100 million quid. That is a huge amount and unless they have another 40/50 million to chuck in there will be no new players unless loans.
If by some miracle we get promoted they may release funds but if not that 100 million investment will soon sound like they got ripped off.

FFS 🤣

There is no way that any new owners are going to spend £100m+ to buy a club and then rely on loans to make it a success for a profit on their investment. They obviously have money to invest in all elements of the club otherwise why bother? These are business men and not a charity.

They have to take the club forward on and off the pitch.

We will see. They could have similar clout to McCabe and the Prince and are banking on the Premiership.

Remember there are clubs in the Championship and League 1 with billionaire owners who don’t spend.

To be fair I think its a combination of things, the fact over sides have signed players, we have a smaller squad than the other sides challenging for promotion, we have lost half our 1st eleven to injuries, we are literally out on our feet, other promotion rivals apparently after the same players we are.
And we have no idea if our new owners have the money to take us forward.
Add in that we are still within touching distance of automatic promotion.
I think all Blades fans agree that we need strengthening in this transfer window to get automatic promotion, especially as this is probably our best chance of getting back to the Premiership.
I think if we could get at least one of our targets over the line this week it would make everyone a bit more relaxed.

‘If by some miracle’ - the team is top of the league if they didn’t have a points deduction & 3rd based on goal difference. 1 point off the top.

What a miracle promotion would be.

True, but we don't and we have new, unknown, owners with an unknown amount to spend. We may not get anyone in by the Norwich game but a few players maybe back from injury. Not ideal, but that's the world we all live in, Blades World that is.
