Would have preferred a perm, but loan to buy is the next best thing.

Let's hope (if we sign him) that it pushes Hamer into center mid.

Campbell/Cannon

BBD --- Hamer --- O'Hare/Seriki/JRS

Peck --- Souza/Davies

Burrows -- Robbo -- Anel -- Gilchrist/Seriki

Cooper

Or if we have to go to a 5 at the back:

----------------Campbell -- Cannon

-------------------BBD --- Hamer

-‐-------------------------Souza

Burrows --- Robbo --- Anel --- Gilchrist --- Seriki

-------------------------------Cooper

How do you know "we can afford" him??
Do you know the budget??, if so, please tell all!
If not, hes an awesome loan, and maybe.....and I'm just putting this out there......we might be able to afford cheaper quality players in different positions with the budget????, player coming to the end of their contracts for example..... I mean, its only a wild idea, but Wilder does seem pretty good with a tight budget..... just saying, Tom Davies, Anel, Cooper, Burrows, Moore, OHare, just a couple of examples that didn't cost £7m+...
I don’t have a clue of the budget, however what I do know if normally the first window post takeover is normally where investment come in. While they’re still giddy and not really up with the harsh realities of the leagues.
This is why I also said if it is a loan I hope that means they’re spending elsewhere otherwise it’s not a great showing of backing from the new consortium.
I want us in the strongest position we can be and if we end up with BBD on loan rather but we’ve plenty of spaces where we need quality and prices are at their highest in Jan.

I love it how people get so annoyed at people giving information out, take it or leave it you wanting it right now twats!

Info gets out and it can change, I’ve experienced it before once or twice, what some on the forum are saying is he’s signed and those who are saying it don’t spout bollocks, nobody will ever reveal their source ffs.

Happy new year to all the normal ones.

Not a fan of Moore I take it 😂

But, wouldn't you rather ensure we know which league next we're in before spending big??

Reciprocated audible eye roll
(Clearly) it wasn’t “clear”as you didn’t say “match day squad” 😉
We have 3 loans currently. If I was suggesting we could only have 5 in the full squad then I wouldn’t have said 3, it would have been 2.

It’s pretty clear if you read it.

Spending big, I’m talking £10-15m in fees in the Championship. Spending big in the PL is altogether a different ball game.

It’s like watching chess pieces being moved around the pitch … and it’s a feature of Wilders style of play since the prem days … must be a joy to play against
Is this a joke? With half a League 1 team we finished top half in the Prem precisely because of Wilder's style of play, it was clearly horrible to play against.

It didn't start in the Prem either, he's always done it. Takes a proper smooth brain to imagine that he only started doing it when we started losing.

But we don't have 3, Souttar is back at Leicester, which means he won't be named in the Squad at all?

It’s not been a ‘joy’ for the 15 teams we’ve beaten this season either..

When it works it’s great. When it stops working, like it did in our second season in the Prem, it can be horrible to watch; particularly when there’s no Plan B.
We largely crept under the radar in our rise to the Prem under CW. This season our every move has been closely scrutinised.
Let’s see if we can change and adapt so we can keep one step ahead of our rivals, or if they’ve learned how to play against us…it’s going to be a very interesting second half of the season.

We do have 3, unless the loan has been cancelled of course, which would be jolly nice of Leicester but highly unlikely.

But given I was obviously meaning in the match day squad it makes no difference aside from the cost outlay of course where we still have to meet the agreement with Leicester for Souttar.

So, to clarify my original point, I would rather have signed BBD and saved 3 loan spots open for other high quality players who we’d struggle to sign otherwise. It appears he’s happy to come so I would have hoped with the new investment we would have been able to buy him as a statement of intent.

I am sure i read the foxes HAVE cancelled the loan agreement .

Does the same thing not apply to every other style of football?

"When it works it's great, when it doesn't it's shit" literally applies to every style and philosophy in the game. Had we changed in the 2nd Prem season and started playing unstructured football, letting our Championship players do what they want and use their insufficient talents to get wins, would it have gone any better?

We can have 20 prem loans, aslong as only 5 are in the named squad.
CW said Souttar was done and had gone back to liecester, idve thought that an agreement had been reached whereby his loan would be cancelled, but whats quite likely, is that we take Choudry instead?

Just had a look and Southampton signed him for £7M on a four year deal, what a waste of money that’s been already for them. They’re going to want some of that back so I can only see it being a loan deal at best because of this. Be a fantastic addition either way.

Loan to buy for £5 mill is a great deal for us

Yes I know, we can have unlimited loans but they’re expensive and you have to pay for them.
However they’re probably cheaper than top tier signings in January where the market is inflated. BBD wouldn’t be inflated though given Southampton want rid and it’a not worked out for him.

No thanks on Choudry, again a waste of a loan when you’d hope Souza is fit for most of the run in so you’d hope to loan someone to play alongside him rather than a like for like replacement.

No joke pal … things have moved on now since that first prem season and overlapping CBs… since that got sussed we have offered little to nothing at the highest level …. Takes a proper smooth brain to not realise since the CB thing got figured out he’s had no plan B

Can only be a loan - he's on PL wages for 4 years - we can't match that in a permanent contract as a Championship club.
Unless he's got a relegation clause , which I dunno about.

If you think that Moore isn’t going to be playing you probably need to have a rethink.

Going to Ipswich. 🤷

Are you referencing the article from 6 months ago in the previous transfer window stating "Sheffield United dealt Brereton Diaz blow as Ipswich close in"

Haven't seen anything linking him Ipswich this window..

That was last summer !!..... Ipswich are likely setting their heights a lot higher now as they have a real chance of staying up. Honestly can't see them going for BBD - I think they will throw a load more cash elsewhere.
